I’m white in Canada. So I can’t know what they have experienced. I just do me and treat everyone how I would like to be treated. I hope that all Canadians would strive to do the same.

As an African American, seeing some of the responses to my Canadian Brothers and Sisters expressing themselves about racism, reminds me of my own country. Black people aren’t lazy, we don’t want handouts. I think the people who come out their mouths with this rhetoric are purposely ignoring not only history but the world around them. How many people need to be caught on camera doing inappropriate and vile things to us? How many times do we need to hear recordings of people openly admitting hating Black people and for thinking less of us? Whether it’s the United States, Canada, Britain or anywhere else mistreatment of Black people is happening, just because you’re not in the USA doesn’t mean the problem doesn’t exist where you’re from. If you can look at current events and in history and fix your mouth to say Black people complain too much, they’re lazy then you need to examine where that mindset comes from and fix it or just don’t say anything. Most of these people need to be talking to the racists spreading this hate around, how are you going to go at the victims of a great atrocity but not confront the perpetrators of it? That’s backwards. Anyway, Much Love from the States, Brothers and Sisters!!!!

Was thinking about moving to Canada. Decided to see what it’s like from people who look like me.

I notice most people in authority when applying rules tend to be stricter, more tyrannical, and less understanding of black, brown, ethnic, indigenous, etc, peoples; hence, the reason why more expulsions in this group. In other words, there are double standards.

The problem of been a person of colour is and will be always there everyway around the world. As long as you are different. You need to think about it before you parker your clothes and leave your on place and learn how to protect yourself from been affected. I learned to stand up for myself, you ask me where I came form, I give the right answer and I do not forget to ask back the same question one asked me? I feel good!!!

The reality is the racesium out in Canada here is real that's a fact and no one want to talk about it.I have so many stories I can share coming from a black immigrant coming from the Carribean. Its in all working sectors in Canada Private and Government Work places and this is a fact, also u got alot of black bosy slave's that don't stand up when they see wrong because they don't want to lose what they have.I have been out here since 2001.Lived in Toronto and decide to move to Ottawa in 2003 what a big mistake it's very heavy out here in Ottawa.here is a lil fact in Ottawa French and English don't like each other but being black or a immigrant they put their dislike apart to hate on blacks and imigrants this is a fact. Also u got alot of black bosy slave's out here so be careful.Peace love and respect in the house.

It's nothing new that they said and neither will it change. I thought that maybe they were deprived of food or something.

Thank you for the open conversations from all of you, we need this as an ongoing discussion and the system of white supremacy that allows racism to thrive in this country.

This is a little odd…I’ve pulled up 3 videos on the subject in regards to racism towards black ppl in Canada (I’m in the States) and it just kinda seems like white privilege and majority rules are being expressed as racism north of the border…nobody has expressed police brutality…nobody has expressed gentrification or activating generational poverty…nobody has expressed anything anywhere near Willie lynch or private jailing…all I’m really seeing is this term “micro aggressions” is what I believe it is…but they aren’t aggressive…things like asking questions about hair texture or how to care for it…or just general ignorance to Africa as a whole…but it’s human nature to identify and empathize with what reminds you of you the most…we eat steed…not primates because we identify more with primates…we congregate with healthy and capable people over disabled people…adults connect with adults children with children men with men and so on…we also are more educated with what we identify with most…this isn’t racism…it’s not a conscious and aggressive effort to minimize the value of a group based on race…it’s just ignorance due to identification
