Mike, for all of your viewers who have a Sedona dehydrator, which comes with one solid base tray: I discovered you can put soaked mung beans on one of the perforated trays set on top the water filled solid tray and wellah- a perfect large growing container which can be washed in the dishwasher! I start by spraying the overnight soaked mung beans with water with a bit of citric acid. Then i cover with ever plentiful light brown plastic grocery bags ; then basically " set and forget" as you say, Mike. Also, when you said you liked to use things you had around the house, this inspired my own search leading to discovering my perfect way to grow bean sprouts. Thanks Mike for all you efforts in teaching us.

Mung beans… a great way to have fresh food quick! Looking at the way the beans push the “roof” off shows the power of good food!

Glad to see you combine the jar sprouting with the grow box. I started sprouts in a jar then had to travel a couple days. Since you have to rinse them twice daily I didn’t want to leave them behind… so here I am… in a hotel with my jar of sprouts. Had I know, I could have put them in the grow box for the couple days I’ve been got. Binging on your videos and anxious to try more and more!

If you enjoy bean sprouts, my recommendation are moth beans, aka turkish gram. These have a much cleaner taste than mung beans, but otherwise grows identical. This is my personal favorite

They were some great looking sprouts, Mike. I have "something" growing in a jar on the counter. I was planting seeds the other day, extra seeds in my hand got damp. Threw em in a jar. Just don't remember if it's kale, or some other asian green, or lettuce. Most of my sprouts I let sit in light for about 6 hrs to develop the chlorophyll. I also put a few drops of GSE in my mister to keep mold at bay. Pure chamomile tea will do the same, it is a natural antifungal as well.

U need an Emeril pasta making machine to replace that Ramen ♡ I powder my garden goodies and use it for the flour for my pasta ♡ then I don't even need to boil my pasta except 2 second dunk in hot water to warm the noods

I’m a little disappointed because I had hoped you would explain what to do when your beans aren’t growing well like the title suggested.

Besides that I absolutely LOVE how you taught how to grow them successfully! I got those special mason jar lids with the screens that affix on to the top and I could never figure out how to use them or what exactly to do I had horrible luck with them. But I also didn’t realize that I was suppose to rinse them and refill every day either until they sprouted and then could be moved to another medium. Thanks for explaining that I just may try something like that again! 🥰🇨🇦🙏🏻❤️🌈

There is also a way with a empty water bottle with some holes

Wow! that's a much better way to get really long sprouts! How many did you start with in the jar? 1/2 cup of beans?

Mike - I tried growing mung beans for the first time and I noticed thick off-white liquid forming on them that smelled. Do you know what that is? I rinsed it off and they didn't smell, but I would think something is wrong with the batch.

I have tried repeatedly to grow beansprouts, following your earlier videos similar to this one. I’ve also tried other YouTube videos to work out what I’m doing wrong. I rinse as prescribed but absolutely every single attempt goes pear-shaped;, everything goes mushy and smelly. Is there a special mung bean to do this? I bought some from a regular store. Maybe one needs special ones? Or maybe it’s too hot here in Australia?

What’s the purpose of the inner tray with the drilled holes?
