Being yourself is never boring. Trying to be someone else is boring.

My son is gay. You would never know it by being around him . He is married and does not hide being gay he just doesn't shout it from the roof tops

Remember back in the days when Marilyn Manson was the most shocking we would see on TV? I miss those days, really.

If being boring means I can become happy without external influence, I’d like to be boring

“You know what makes me special?” Absolutely nothing honey, absolutely nothing.

I still consider "queer" to be an insult, because that's what it was growing up. (There's nothing "special" about chasing trends.)

"Do you know what makes me special? I'm a queer....and I'm a Please, don't ever do that again. That hurt my ears and my brain.

I see no empathy from them, just claiming they are better than everyone else.

i am just shocked at how often younger generations use gender stereotypes to justify trans status; stereotypes that my generation (x) fought our asses off to get rid of. wtf happened?

Queer now just means "I'm broken and all you should be broken too, because misery loves company"

I imagine some people’s existence depends on other people’s affirmations.

Just came upon your channel. What a breath of fresh air. 58 yo gay man here. Part of pride used to be about helping others, raising money for those in need, we used to listen to all points of view. For a time it was organically a wonderful thing. Now the entire thing has been hijacked by a bunch of other letters and colors (flag colors) and the orig. meaning is lost. Your voice is really important in this day....

I’m Irish. She’s an embarrassment to this country. She should’ve been banned from Eurovision, she was constantly bullying the Israeli entry and the Eurovision officials.

This is also how vulnerable people become cult members. The cult offers relief from their suffering, then love bombs them once they join. The person doesn’t realize that it’s a trap and once the honeymoon is over they develop cognitive dissonance to justify why they are still there.

To quote syndrome from the incredibles: when everybody is special, then no one else will be.

So many people are desperate to be considered special and unique. It reminds me of a philosophy that says that if you have to tell other people that you are something you are most likely not that thing.

Can I share something as a bisexual person?

It took me a lifetime to understand my identity. I questioned whether I was gay, straight, or even needed to change my sex. Eventually, I realized that my attraction to different people was unpredictable. I spent years in confusion before understanding that I was bisexual. Even now, the term doesn't fully capture my experience, and I often wonder, "Am I really defining myself or others based on our sexual preferences?"

The truth is, being myself hasn't been easy, and it's still challenging today, almost 40 years later. It's hard to accept because, if you're gay or lesbian around my age or older, you know the hardships we faced, especially in the '90s.

Hearing terms like gay, lesbian, and especially "LGBTQ+" makes me uncomfortable because seeing kids today talk about gender as if it's a badge of honor or something you can choose offends me. It's not a choice or something you decide. Sometimes, it feels like a curse.

I feel more insecure and isolated now than I did in the past. I feel more afraid in this atmosphere of forced, mainstream acceptance than I did in the '90s when bullying and violence against gay people were common. In fact, I'm now less open about being bisexual in public because it ties me to certain people, ideologies, and politics.

It's strange, but I feel more alone, misunderstood, and in danger now than I ever have in my life. Absolutely.

The pride event in Bristol (UK) last year, lesbians where told to leave by the police as the trans people there, didn't want them.

It's cringe, I'd rather be boring than cringe.
