I totally agree with you I grew up having a learning disability and never really understood why I was in certain classes my mom never really explained any thing to me what was going on I do give her credit for getting me reading lesson from this grandma lady that she knew when I was little bit as I went along I never understood any of it untill late junior high and high school I was kind of lost

School I felt my only direction and support was my teachers and felt totally abonden from my parents I started fighting for my own rights and that I wanted to be in regulaur classes. Like the others I just wanted a chance and to not have to be embarsed about my learning abilitys so I took over a long with my teachers and went to work a half of day and school and by my junior year I only needed two credits to graduate in my senior year and became my own parent over my schooling and moved in with my sister and helped pay rent and other bills all why going to school I took the city bus and or walked or rode my bike when things got really tough I liked to the direction of my school counselors and my teachers the best thing they had us do was keep a journal at school and would go over our writings once a week that was so helpful I felt like my parents deserted me in my education so I had to do it for myself
