Bro how is Thompson's 9.79 at the Olympics not up to the standard expected. It's a historically fast time and he was just beaten by an equally historic performance. this is the problem with track in the us, after getting momentum from a widely watched netflix series and a great oly, you have a marquee race with oly medal winners in it and you cant watch this race on tv in the states. really hope this michael johnson league can remedy this

i find it amusing that Thompson was drawn again next to Kerley, other than the Olympics final all his other races where he has won he never had anyone worthwhile beside him and once he got out the blocks there was only space on either side so he could relax and run, in the final Kerley went stride for stride with him and i reckon that unnerved Thompson and his lack of dealing with big race pressure showed itself and he ran tight, that being said to be able to run a 9.79s tight is seriously impressive, i think he is still on a little bit of a downer after Paris and needs to work on his mental game and when that happens he will burn thru everyone, if he can work it out that is
