This Olympics goes on to show just how great Bolt was. Noah won 100m, but couldn't win 200m and didn't participate in the 4x100m relay. Jacobs who won gold last time didn't get any medal this year. Bolt won all 3 golds for 3 consecutive olympics.

I've watched every olympic final ever. This was the best 100 meters in history. When bolt ran it was like a joke. Now everybody is close with crazy times.

Did anyone notice Jacob running with a cramping leg and still finishing under 10 seconds? Crazy!

Fun Fact. If it wasn't for the electronic starting system Lyle's loses this race.
Traditionally races where started with a starting pistol. The sound of the shot tells the sprinters to begin.
But sound moves relatively slowly, atleast compared to light which is how final times are measured.
So it takes 0.0035s for the sound wave to cross each lane.
Lyles & Kishane where 3 lanes apart, so Lyles would've heard the starting pistol 0.0105s after Kishane.
But Lyles only beat Kishane by 0.005s and so if this race had been started using the traditional method Lyles loses through no fault of his own.
That's how ludicrously close this was, that the speed of sound itself could've made the difference.
Thankfully the Olympics switched to an electronic starting system in 2012, with an electronic pistol wired to 8 individual speakers behind each athlete.
It really goes to show how every little detail must be considered for events like this, even the slightest thing can end up biasing the race.
Congrats to Noah Lyles, what a race.

Usain Bolt do you have any comments?
Usain Bolt: If I were there, they would be confused about who was the second but never who was the first.

If Olympics want more views they need to release this video immediately after the 100m. Not 5 days later. Would give athletics way more coverage.

The commentators need to stop. Calling Noah one of the greatest of all time after one race is a joke.
