I just got my shiba pup and he is so much fun. However, I cannot take my eyes off of him for a second or he will tear the entire carpet out off my apartment. He already tore 3 corners😣definitely need a lot of patience and attention

As a fellow shiba inu owner, your videos are on point! You will never go a day without laughing... Or vacuuming.

I’ve had my Shiba for thirteen years, but when she was a puppy, she had me in tears even though I am an experienced dog owner. Love & patience are the keys here. She is as cuddly as a koala and very affectionate — always on to the next game, and never wants to leave my side. She loves to play tricks and knows when something is a joke. It’s like she has a sense of humor — for a good joke. They are remarkable in every way, but watch out— they will manipulate you into getting what they want.

My Shiba passed about 2 years ago and was a genuinely great dog. The most important thing with them is socialization early and often. She was incredibly well behaved but did have her Shiba moments. Trips to the vet were a nightmare and by the time she was about 6-7, it became impossible to cut her nails. I'm expecting to get another Shiba pup soon and gonna try to focus on how to keep her calm when being handled, specifically when getting her nails clipped.

As a 12 1/2 years old Shiba Dad who’s name is Tonka, i agree with everything that is said... Good and bad they are Awesome Dogs to have with the right owner.

Cody you are the right trainable owner for a Shiba...Congrats!!!!

I just found your channel, thank you for promoting positive and consistent training for Shiba puppies! Reputable Shiba breeders such as myself work hard to produce stable and even temperament puppies but always look for owners who can follow through and are dedicated in the caring consistency in the new homes, . It is so valuable for the puppies whole life. If not constant and dedicated to the training you can quickly undo generations of soundness and stability. Shibas are not easy dogs but they are lifetime dogs. Rest assured after age 5 or 6 they do settle down.

It was so funny, my shiba is named Aries, i met him at a pet store, when i went to buy a bunny. Lol. He was like 4 months just laying in his little kennel thing, all the other puppies were freaking out!! i was staring at him, the manager asked me if i wanted to play with him, and when she brought him out he was so excited!!! He was playful and fun and silly. So i went back the next day, and the next day, finally i bought him two toys 😅 i finally decided to buy him!!!! He was super easy to potty train. (Im a first time dog owner) we only had to do the kennel thing for like 3 days. He never chewed on anything except his toys. It was strange though he wouldnt eat his treats until he saw other dogs at the dog park wanted them, lmao! He also didnt play with toys until i was playing with them. Super smart, he even goes outside to throw up! Sure my little baby might be a little stubborn but im really patient, because im stubborn too! I need good reasons to change my mind, and so does he (:: hes my best friend ever! I also brush his hair after i brush mine almost everyday lol he loves dogs and people.

I think they’re right about finding a good breeder. Our shiba pup has been really easy to get on with - she’s super friendly with strangers (human and dog) and chill at home.

I've had my shiba Zyere for 8yrs now. Awesome dog, very loyal, laid back and funny personality. I don't buy into some of the shiba stereotypes. You definitely have to have patience and consistency. Shibas are huge on trust and respect. When you build that with them you have a friend for life. I would love to chop it up with you about Shibas anytime.

My Shiba (female) was pottie trained in 4 days. She loved every stranger, siren, and loud engine immediately. I got very, very lucky to have such a good, clean, quickly socialized girl.

However... she loves strangers so much that she loves them more than me. If someone else is outside, I don't exist on the other end of the leash. It took about 7-8 months for her to learn to walk when going on walks--she'd just sit, crawl, chew on her leash, run the opposite direction to chase blowing leaves. I *dreaded* walking her. It would take 45 minutes just to walk around an apartment complex building when other dogs could do it in 2-3 minutes. Every day I think I have her leash trained, she pulls or comes to a complete stop out of nowhere. Every single day requires me re-teaching her that I am the alpha on walks. She loves to stop and groom herself in the middle of the road. Off leash she will return to me and stick by me, but only because I have never physically disciplined her, nor yell at her. The reason I do this is because Shiba will ignore you and never return to you if they do not associate you as "always fun and rewarding." If you are not the most fun and interesting thing around them, you don't exist.

I think most Shiba owners would agree their dog seems deaf at times. I've already met a 2 year old Shiba that didn't even respond to his name. And if I can be completely honest, I thought my Shiba had a disability at first because she would not respond or even flinch at the sound of my voice, fingers snapping, clapping, etc. -- so I must emphasize -- they only pay attention to what is most interesting to them, so you must shower them with positivity and not punish them.

My shiba was fairly devilish during adolescence, but grew into such a great adult dog. He is always a good boi now.

My daughter has a Sheba Inu
Love both of them ❤️
My experience I think of them as cats, independent and they come to you when they want a hug...this describes my daughter also 🤭

Patience is the key word. Luna will be 2 years old next week and it wasn’t until 6 months ago that everything finally clicked with her. Now, she’s so in tune with what is acceptable. ✌🏻💖🐕

The cream Shiba in this video reminds me of my Shiba Jojo so much! Shiba's are adorbs. Also, my Shiba definitely loves human attention when there aren't any dogs around.
