The first thing we need to do is, we need to use the template to decide where we need to drill holes in the floor. For the Nexus, you can have either 12, or 14 inch rough-in, both require different adapters. Some of the Washlet+ toilets, like the Aquia 4, have a 10 inch rough-in option, as well. Here, we see the 14 and the 12, but on some mounting templates you'd also see a 10, on the opposite side of the 12 line. We're dealing with a 12 inch rough in, so I tore the perforated edge for the 12 inch circle. Now, I'm going to take this template and place it over the flange. We're going to line it up here, so that it's as centered as we can have it here real quick. Now, we're going to grab a drill and drill holes here, here and here. If it makes it easier for you, you can tape this down while you're drilling the holes. Since we're not actually installing this in a real bathroom, i'm just going to hold it in place. Here's our 12 inch rough-in adapter. If we were dealing with a 14 inch, or a 10 inch rough in, the rough-in is from the center of these bolt holes, to the back wall, without the trim taking into account, but if we were dealing with a 12 or 10 inch rough-in, this piping would be longer, or shorter, accordingly. We are using a Better than wax seal here. A lot of people will use an actual wax ring on this portion. We're using better than wax simply, because it's less messy and we install a lot of toilets on this platform. These bolts, along with the additional hardware that I'm installing right now, are hardware that should have come with your flange, when you first installed it. These are items that Toto does not include, because they shouldn't be needed. That being said, if they did not come with your original flange, or it was misplaced, these can be quickly and easily picked up for a few dollars at your local hardware store. We're going to tighten this down, until it's snug. If you're using a wax ring, you'll definitely feel the wax kind of grip this flange adapter, as you tighten it down. Now, what we need to do is, we need to screw through the holes that we've created here in the back, to hold the back of the flange adapter down. These are short screws, they're the only short ones in the box and they're actually taped to the back of the flange adapter. You might also put anchors into the floor, which are in the same bag. We didn't in this scenario, because we're drilling into wood. That flange adapter is now tight. Again, remember this is our 12 inch flange adapter, and so we're working with a 12 inch rough and this should work just fine. We now have to install the brackets that the toilet screws into, and you'll see that...

Many thanks!!! Great video. Using it to install our unit this weekend in master bath. If we like it, I will surely “need” one for my bathroom too, and will certainly purchase from y’all.

Great video! How far away should the water source be from the toilet?

Great content. Can you recommend what wax/better than wax you use on the day to day for install? With this kind of application, given a flange is currently installed on top of the floor surface is one better than the other?

At the 6:00 mark, do those sidescrew need a proprietary bit? I'm having trouble tightening a loose bowl with a regular screw driver.

Thank you for the video. Can you kindly tell me the exact inches at the bottom of the back of Toto CST624CEFGAT40#01 Toilets and Bidets. I am thinking to purchase one. But my pipe is close to the current toilet and can be in the way.

Nice video, if I was younger I would have installed the 2 Nexus + with S7A Bedit 110lbs unit. My question is can an auto flush system be in stalled on a non Toto toilet (Gerber)? I know a bedit can be.

What is you're not mounting it on solid wood. We have a floating floor that the toilet will sit on. Do you drill down through the floor to the underlayment wood?

Hi Daniel,

My auto flush on my nexus with washlet 550e doesn’t work consistently. It does auto flush but not every time after use. What can we do to fix it?

Is there option to auto raise the seat as needed after the lid auto open?

Does Toto sell adaptive children toilet seat for little kid? If not, will it cause any sensory damage to the seat itself if we place one on?

Thank you very much for all your straight to the point informative, honest and helpful videos!

10:43 The bidet socket has a special connector. How could I add a water filter for less calcium between the T connector and the Bidet socket? Thanks. Is the socket 1/2", by the way?

Just installed ours thanks to your video! Is it normal for a little bit of wiggle up and down. Only when we lift up would it do this. Not when we apply downward pressure.

I have a Toto Nexus 1G that needed this kind of installation. I had to remove the toilet and those plastic things that keep the toilet from moving side to side have holes in them from the initial installation. Is it ok to reuse the same mounting blocks when reinstalling or would I have to get replacements? If so, do you know where I would be able to buy them? Thanks.

I am updating my bathroom so i have the wall exposed so i can run a new outlet to the toilet. What about hot water? Does the seat warm up cold water or is there a seat that can use hot water line?

Hi Daniel, we have a Toto smart toilet with the skirted bowl and flange adapter that we had installed about a year ago. We are getting some sewer gas smell. Is this an issue you have run into before and what is the best way to diagnose where it is coming from and how to fix? I believe we used a wax ring, but can the rubber ring on the top of the flange adapter be replaced? Thanks for your help!

I have the new toto Carlyle toilet and the Toto Sw3084 washlet. Is it still possible to install the washlet water hose through the hole? The bracket is longer than the one in the video, obstructing almost half of the hole. Can I still put the hose in the hole or is there an adapter that can be used? Thanks!

Hello Daniel. Thanks so much for this informative Toto video. Does the flange adapter have to be perfectly symmetrical to the drain pipe? I need to install my Toto toilet about 2cm to the right of the centerline of the existing drain pipe. My contractor tells me it is impossible to do this as the adapter has to be perfectly aligned to the wall as well as being perpendicular to a straight line passing through both openings in the flange adapter. This has become a major issue on my remodel and he has offered no solution. I hope you can help. Thanks!
