I got the worst ear infection of my life after doing candling. Had to see an ear specialist 6 times to heal from it. He pulled stuff out of my ear that didn’t belong there as well.

I've never seen a purple ear candle. The ones I use are not ladened with wax, they only have a small amount of wax to hold them together. They have worked for me and other people I've known who have used them with no ill effects. 🤔 hmm My friend used them and had an enormous amount of ear wax that had been in the candle after using it. She felt so much better. Like i said before, I've never seen a purple ear candle before..

I have ear candles and have used them but what I see is most people do not have nearly the amount of build up in the ear to warrant them. If someone has excessive, visible build up in the (almost) outer ear, the warmth from the candle can melt, soften and soak up the wax. Better move is a few drops of H202 in the canal (Doc has already covered this) which not only softens wax but fights infection and helps with sinus!

I just had ear candling done at a barber in Marmaris, Turkey
(Aug 2023)
He put both candles in my ears at the same time, then lit them with a kitchen blow torch.
The heat was immense.
As the candles burned down towards my ears, the heat inside my ears was almost unbearable, I was in agony.
2 days after the procedure, my inner ears are still very sore and my hearing is now impaired, which I'm hoping is temporary and they heal naturally.
After the procedure, the barber showed me what looked like a tiny bit of earwax ftom my left ear, nothing from my right.
Please do not try this procedure.
I was stupid enough to give it a go whilst on holiday but in my opinion, it is very dangerous and could result in loss of hearing...and IT DOES NOT WORK!
AVOID THIS PROCEDURE!

For me, it works well and for many people around me. It relaxes, warms and cleanses. people who have a problem with them buy terrible quality candles or are complete idiots. Have a nice day

Interesting I just used one three days ago. Saw the doctor yesterday and he said there was less wax in my ear then before. He did not prescribe it. I had gotten it at the pharmacy where I live. He still had to remove the wax that was left and I can hear again. I wonder if it depends on what kind you buy? 🤔

I got an infection doing this and now that it’s healed, I have permanent in ear dermatitis! My doc said this is possibly one of the most dangerous things out there……. Please do not use these things

There is a "thing' in some places in the middle east where people pay street urchins to clean their ears with a really long handled..sort of liek a coke spoon.

It is gross but people pay for it .
