It's been a solid and practical 48 hours of use with the brand new Surface Pro 11.

So how did it hold up?

Lets find out!

The Surface Pro doesn't use a truncated version of Windows 11. It is just normal Windows 11. It's arguably the best version of Windows 11 because it's not full of Bloatware.

imo that eraser thing is a positive for the pen

I got the surface laptop and it really is crazy how nice the battery life and lack of fan noise and overall build quality is 👍

Another plus point over either the MacBook Air or iPad Pro is you can replace the SSD for a larger M.2 2230 NVMe SSD via a service cover under the rear kick stand.

you are using a full version on windows. No watered down versions…that’s what Apple do

Thanks for showing off the Godot editor! I was literally looking just yesterday to find out if it would run on Windows on ARM and couldn't find anything. Now I've just picked up one of the older models to play around with

Thanks for this video! I'm really looking forward to what's still to come for Windows on ARM.
Just one note: The focus is pulsing quite a bit in the talking-head shots, as visible in the corners. Perhaps you could set the AF speed to a slower setting to make this less distracting. Keept it up!

I bought the Lenovo SD laptop because of the power and fans problem of other laptops. My work laptop is a6 core R5 with a decent amount of RAM but it's hot and noisy and the fans come on for any little thing and stay on when I'm just running MS Teams!
What I need is a laptop that doesn't generate fan noise while I'm on a call, can handle Visual Studio and doesn't get almost hot enough to burn me in daily use. The Lenovo promises to be that and more. The massive amount of battery life and 3k touchscreen are just a bonus at that point

That's cool, I've been programming in godot for more than 7 years now and it's cool to see someone using the surface pro for that! :) I have the surface pro 8 and it works great with everything i do, so i guess the elite processor makes it even better regarding processing power! thanks for the review! :)

Glad to see someone else using Godot. How have you found the video game learning process so far? Are you just learning it as a hobby, or do you want to actually pivot toward game development full time? I'd love to be a full time game developer but I'm scared about making the transition since I'm in my 40's as well.

side button is for the context menu, if you have more then they're for extra features like binding tools to them. back eraser is for less commonly used shortcuts and the eraser (click and hold to launch a program or take a screenshot). Really it's user preference, but the lack of an eraser and actual button on the apple pencil is a sticking point for me. I want that tactile feel that an actual button has, the squeeze was too easy to trigger accidentally and annoying to try and apply when I intended it (I don't have the steadiest of hands).

Appreciate the content. Thank you. Quite happy as I just ordered the same spec 😅. But know what I’m getting myself into as had a base spec surface pro 9 before.

Surprised on the keyboard cost. I thought £300 / $300 is for the latest new design and you can pick up the legacy / older design for around £150 / $150.

Lucky I have an old surface pro X keyboard and even older pen I can use.

The argument about flipping pen just to erase small mistake is perfectly valid.
Many people seem to want this feature, but as someone who uses the pen a lot I can tell it wastes time and interrupts the flow a lot.

Ok I think this might be the best combo... I was considering an Android tab as a companion "computer" for light on the go work.

But this, this might be the best option as I won't have to worry so much about my actual work apps..

This is interesting I must say..
Get a good beefy windows laptop for plug in work and get a windows tab for on the go work.

Interesting times.

I would love to see a Snapdragon version of the Surface Go. I generally don’t like Windows tablets because there’re not many Apps to utilise the touch screen and the general experience SUCKS, I do like my Surface Go for how compact it is. However the Intel chip in there runs really really hot, it triggers overheat protection easily. If an ARM chip goes into the Surface Go, it’ll be much cooler. Low end Intel processors couldn’t do anything heavy, so does the Snapdragon chips, so why not give the Surface Go Snapdragon chips?

I'm excited to see what the Surface Laptop Go and the non-laptop Surface Go will look like with a Snapdragon chip. It seems like the perfect SoC for the more portable devices.
