I just wanted a fast and energy efficient Windows laptop... Why do they have to slam useless AI features down our throats 😢

THANK YOU for calling out the AI nonsense.

You are a good professional reviewer, I'm really frustrated with all the major youtube tech channels who are now more focused on the entertainment value of tech reviews rather than providing good DETAILED and nuanced information with strict focus on making a good purchase decision. If someone just wants surface level information or entertainment they may consider watching the major youtube channels, however for genuine buyers in the market it is reviews like yours which help the most. Thank you, you are doing great, keep up the good work

Great breakdown Josh, thanks for the video! I'm just not overly excited about any of these, I have my eye on the Zenbook S16 coming out in July, very interested to see your thoughts on it once the time is right.

Just a point of clarification. AI models require huge amounts of processing power to train, but are quite efficient when running on AI co-processors. You could definitely run a capable model on consumer hardware, even your phone.

Great video, as always. The only thing I want to point out is that in the intro it seems like a lot of apps on Windows don't have native Arm support, but considering that this kind of laptops are not aimed at the professional audience that works with "niche" or very intensive applications, the selection is quite decent. For example, all the mainstream browsers are native, Chrome, Edge, Mozzilla, Brave and Opera. All the 365 office suite, the mainstream streaming apps like Prime Video, Netflix, Paramount, Disney+, Spotify, even some coding programs like Visual Studio and Slack, or for foto and video editing there are, Lightroom, Photoshop and DaVinci Resolve with Premiere Pro coming later in the summer together with all the other apps showed during the Computex 2024. So i think that for the mainstream audience, there are plenty of apps that won't require running through the emulation layer and so, IF the X Elite and Plus will achieve the performance Qualcomm is showing, a lot of Windows users will benefit from this kind of laptops, as always we need to wait and see how they will be in the real world, i'll wait for your reviews :)

Thanks to you channel, I bought a yoga pro 9I with mini LED, 32 gb ram with 4060 graphic card for $1650 at bestbuy. It has been great and almost $1k less than sale spec with dell and others. Thank you

Josh any thought in the CAMM RAM modules?
Any timeline that you'll see them implemented in laptops? Would love to see upgradable memory again

I came to the same conclusion as you Josh, and preordered the Lenovo Slim 7x. It has the fewest compromises, with a nice OLED screen, huge battery, great keyboard, and you can get the 32GB/1TB configuration for cheap. I'm a Linux user who won't really get to run my OS on it for a few months (kernel 6.11), but I'm tired of being disappointed by x86 laptops. I'm looking forward to testing it asap. The Surface Laptop and Galaxy Book4 Edge were my next choices, but I wanted an OLED screen and the memory upgrade.

I was getting swept up in the AI hype and have almost preordered the Yoga several times this week. This has been the first honest video that made me cool my jets and wait for the reviews. Have my like and my sub.

So informative and efficient, as always! I'm thrilled for the X Elite CPU, but now I look forward to your future reviews on the new Intel Lunar Lake and the new AMD Zen5 and how these are compared against the Arm side of CPU. It's really an interesting year for Windows PCs.

Great analysis. I am really interested in that 14 Samsung Edge. LOTS of ports, bright OLED, and weighs 2.56 pounds.

Thanks for the video and the spreadsheet! The 32GB DRAM option of the ASUS Vivobook S 15 is a big differentiator and the nice 15" screen is also a plus so I plan on getting one of these (assuming reviews are positive).
