Sunrun Solar Reviews: "Stay away! Sunrun Solar surveyed my house and agreed to expand my solar. Then, they said they would do so only for an extra $7,800, based on a baseless claim that a prior contract was in breach. However: * We were not in breach. * No contract terms tied them together. * Sunrun Solar surveyed the house and approved the install. * Their rationale for refusal kept changing..."

It's now October 15, 2024 and the install still has not been signed off by the county.

Wow! Wish we would have seen this before we signed a contract with them. So we pay $516 a month for Sunrun and just last month paid Edison $3, 425. Like how does that even make sense. All they had to say when we called was “your panels are working at 100%”. On top of that instead of giving us an actual solution Sunrun just said they wanted to add 14 more panels to our home and have us pay $250 a month extra to them on top of the $516 to solve our problem. Great solution right??? NOT!! They totally scammed us, the sales guy told us we’d only be getting charged “$12 of taxes”, which is not true. Also incase anyone was wondering we have over 50 panels on our roof front and back of our house so our house should be generating plenty of energy to the point we shouldn’t have to pay Edison much.
The sales guy also I’m pretty sure made a hefty commission off us with how many panels we had installed on our home (he even brought my husband a bottle as a thank you once everything was done).

We settled. I consider it a fair settlement, but I did have to sign an NDA. They don't want other victims to get encouraged. I'm content tho.

Individuals that go to your house do not make any design decisions at all. They’re there to take photos and measurements.

Does anyone actually do a break even analysis of having solar power installed? My math says 15-20 years. And, are you confident you’ll still be living in that home when you do reach the break even point?

He is blaming Sunrun but I say let's blame the real problem here. Too many regulations in the space between Utility company and city/county. This guy would have had a similar no matter where he went to expand his system.
