Hi! I’m Rutuja, co-founder of Viviva Colors. It’s wonderful to see your passion for artists and their work. I wanted to clarify that every illustration in our three activity books—Florals, Mandalas, and Around the World—was created from scratch by incredibly talented members of the Viviva community. The artists who brought these pieces to life include Alexandra MacVean, Nupoor Kokil, Wali H, and Theodora.

As a small, family-run brand, we deeply value our artists' contributions. We believe that the unique magic of human creativity can never be replaced by even the finest AI tools. 😊

Thank you for your continued support as we push ourselves creatively!

That seems like the best quality colouring pages I’ve seen 😮

It's worth mentioning that scented sticks and incense are not good for kitties

I’m an HSP too. Hi friend! I always wondered if the sensitive nature of my personality is what makes me so very introverted too haha. I am happiest with just myself and my pets and my partner most of the time 😊

Thanks for sharing this!

It's a little weird, but the Dalek relaxation tape for humans really helps me calm down most of the time lmao

I have the blue linen one with the "Around the World" pad. I liked the idea of very low threshold creativity for when I'm too exhausted to come up with my own drawing and just want to do a little colouring for relaxation, that's why I got it. And because I like having all necessary things together in one small footprint carry-all. Just to grab it and start.

The sketches are quite nice and invite to colour them. The reverse colouring pages are even so cute that I don't want to spoil them with lines (maybe I will try and match the colours and paint them over with gouache or acrylics, so a colour-mixing exercise).

The portfolio looks pleasant, I really like that blue.
The pigments can be activated effortlessly and are very intense and vibrant.
The waterbrush allows for precise and detailed work.

But that's it for the positive things. All in all I'm rather disappointed:

- I wanted to do a wash gradient with Persian Blue, the closest to a sky colour the sheets offer. Except it isn't close at all, a gradient wash was not possible because the waterbrush is too small, the pigment can't be moved quickly and evenly enough, before the paint sinks in and stains the paper permanently. The paper didn't survive the continued scrubbing. It's good if you have the exact hue and value and apply it exactly where you want it. But you can't work the paint on the paper. Even my mixed media sketchbooks perform much better.

- I'm not happy with the colour selection. I don't think I will continue using the sheets.

- The scent of the incense sticks is not appealing to me. At least not when sticking in the portfolio. They might smell better when lit (which one is not supposed to do).

- Why does it have the name "Inktober 2024" on it? It has nothing to do with Inktober. The sketches don't relate to the prompts. And there aren't even 31 sketches.

- I bought the portfolio with the idea in mind to use it with my ordinary A5 sketchbooks. But the portfolio is rather slim. My Stillman and Birn A5 alpha is too thick for it. The zipper does close, but is strained. The Blackwing A5 Slate only fits when I remove the waterbrush and the pen from the loops in the portfolio and the pencil from the spine of the Blackwing. But that defeats the purpose, doesn't it? I can, however, exchange the Viviva sheets with my Art Toolkit palettes.

So at the bottom line: buyer's regret.

I'm so glad you reviewed these kits! I bought 2 on their fundraising page and am eagerly awaiting for the time when they will ship. I was wondering about the scented sticks because I am also sensitive to strong fragrances. You said they smelled less after airing them out. Were you eventually able to completely eliminate the scent? This was one of the things I worried about.

After many years a searched up for a psychologist to help me out, so I can gain back my creativity (at the first place), and her field was this guided meditation (image making). I remember it was super hard for me to do becouse my mind just can't relax, and very, very easly can distract ^^" But when I was able to meditate "properly" it felt really good after that and helped me alot. But if you fall asleep, that's okay as she told me. :3 (sadly later on I wasn't able to go to her, and a year later I went to new spychologist, and we working with art, but she also started learning this kind of meditation, and I help her out in her study. And I alsways draw the images after these meditations for her, so she can bring that to her teacher. ^^)

I quite like this kit! I'm not sure about the paints as the look dye based with florescent additions while I'm prefer more pastel & natural colors. Yet this is the perfect kit for fugitive watercolors as I wouldn't have to be concerned with fading as the keeping everything in the coloring book inside a zippered or cork holder keeps the paintings away from light. Well thought out design.

Is it just me or do the coloring pages look AI generated? Especially the cat one and the cactus one :( I can't stand art supply companies using AI images. It just seems so wrong?
