Create New Peppermint Update Icon Missing In Panel

In this video I will be demonstrating how to create a new Peppermint Update Manager Icon to add back to the panel. A viewer made comment in one of my videos that the Update Icon had dissappeared from the panel and wanted to know how to get it back. Unfortunately this was not as simple as I first thought, there was no existing launcher within the panel items so adding an existing item was out of the question, so a new launcher within the XFCE Add New Items option had to be created. After this was created I realized that if this was accidentally removed you were back to the same problem, so a demonstration of creating a menu entry within menulibre was the second option which allows you to right click the item within the Whisker Menu and add to panel, this process can be repeated every time the item is removed from the panel without the hassle of re-creating. Hope you enjoy the video.

Name:Peppermint Update

Command:xfce4-terminal -T "Peppermint Update" -e 'bash -c "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade --yes ; echo ; read -n1 -p \" Press any key to close.\""'

Did this on Debian XFCE which I'm using at the moment. Dumped Cinnamon and went back to XFCE. Quicker, lighter and easier to use too.

I created the Peppermint updater with Menu Editor. It is in Whisker menu now. So you don't have to right click the panel to add new item. Do it from the Whisker menu. So if you delete the updater from the panel, open Wisker right click on updater icon and place it on the panel. Right click the item and click on Move and you can drag it and place it anywhere on the pane.
No default icon theme is Pepirus, not the dark one. Was one of the first things I did. I changed the theme to Arc dark red, wm theme too Arc red dark and icons to the dark Pepirus.
I even had 4 of these \. I deleted 3 of them, saved, but when I check it again, there are 2 left!? WTF!! Anyway thanks Colin for this excellent tutorial.
