US calls build-up of China's nuclear arsenal 'concerning'

The United States has called China's build-up of nuclear forces "concerning". US media has reported that China has begun building more than 100 new missile silos in a desert area in the west of the country. The US State Department said the developments signal the rapid growth of China's nuclear arsenal. Just last year, the Pentagon had projected that China's warhead stockpile would double. Washington has repeatedly called on China to join the US and Russia in a new arms control treaty.

China needs to catch up. They need a few thousand more not just 100. And they need to be mobile in subs, trucks, ships etc not in silos which are easily targeted. This sounds more like a smear against China. They aren't that stupid to build fixed location silos easily targeted.
