Depending on which method you decided on, the 1st con doesnt apply to everyone. I did the complete opposite and didn't do anything for the first 1 1/2. Do agree w most though !

Sleeping tip - Put a hair tie two or three inches from the bottom of your dreads, weave in any shorter ones to stop them flying about. Lay your hair between your pillow and your headboard when you lie down. It traps them but not enough to stop you moving about but keeps them out of your face

I have straight medium fine hair I almost never do maintenance so I wouldn't say you need too per say just a preference

I have straight thin hair and I’m doing freeform and I haven’t done any maintenance except for separating them once in awhile so that con I wouldn’t agree with

I find the best most effective way to dry is to have a one person metal concert and just headbang the outter layer dry and wait about 5 or 10 mins for some more moisture to soak to the outter parts and repeat.
