From my childhood I was surprised by the village cats (North-West of Russia, Pskov province) - they could go with you to the forest for mushrooms and walk many kilometers with you. Dogs - Yes! They are imposed all the time when you go to the neighboring village to the grocery store or you go to the forest, but for cats to go along with people .... for me it was amazing. I have only one explanation - cats are very curious, they want to go long distances but are afraid to get lost, so they go along with people.
