New nebulous scandanavian woman track just dropped.

Big thanks to all of you for watching.

The amount of people saying she’s “lost her talent” or is “dead” after a certain album is insane. Björk hasn’t fallen off, she’s evolved. She will never sound like she did in the beginning. She is uninterested in making music that is catchy, nor should she be interested. If you can only enjoy catchy music then Björk isn’t for you, and never was for you from the beginning. You merely got to enjoy a sliver of her capabilities.

I like how she mixed reggaeton and techno here. Instruments are also very woody, yet there's still an industrial vibe. And it is kinda catchy in places, as you noticed :)
I hope Fossora will be structured more like a pop-album, rather than very cohesive but quite slow avantgarde album. At least, Atopos gives me some hope for that :)

Bjork has really embraced atonal chanty and slightly chaotic music for a few albums now. I love the experimental nature - as well as the bass clarinet textures throughout - but the one slight disappointment is that her vocal chants have become quite samey from album to album, often confined to three notes and very typical inverval jumps (as you pointed out early on in the video). It's not that I want her necessarily to re-embrace vocal melody - I'd just like to hear some different intervals and notes once in a while.

It’s a mixture of biophilia and medulla more than anything .

Gotta disagree I love Utopia, but I like what you had to say. Cool channel.

The latest singles turn me right off. I have all her albums to date and enjoy listening to them although her vocal affectations, once so unique, were wearing thin for me on Utopia and Vulnicura. If her upcoming album is like the singles, then I won't be adding it to my collection. However, there is no denying her willingness to get 'out there' so more power to her.

The song makes me think more of Vulnicura rather than Utopia sonically

Inloved the lushness of Utopia, but it always felt like inaccessible sonic soup. Hoping for more variety during this upcoming album cycle

Vulnicura was the last good Björk album. Utopia is a bag full of farts. My problem with modern Björk right now is the extremely lack of vocal melody. She has this obsession with fragmented and overly syllabicated singing which is unique and I like. This singing style is tolerable in Vulnicura but Utopia is just not it. That is my problem with Atopos too. I like the production but the singing is meeeehhh.

She seems to have turned her back on the idea of a chorus. Or lost the ability to write a great melody. I liked the unusual rhythm and instrumentation on this new track and the lyrics were interesting but just when I thought the big chorus was coming … there was nothing, just the instruments dropped out for a couple of lines then on to the next verse. I know what you mean about missing the early stuff. This track feels half finished to me and reminded me of a poetry to music art installation. She needed the extra input of a great hook writer like Chris Martin of Coldplay in my opinion to take it to the next level.

Why didn't you watch and react to the video also? It's like you ordered a steak and are just eating it with a fork and no knife 😢

Totally agree what you said. As bjork fan, to me she's dead after vespertine album. Vulnicura and Utopia were such unlisteneable albums.... this song makes no exception. The video is brilliant, beats too.... but yeah... lyrics are a mess.
