In this video AJ takes on the task of explaining the power behind some of these radio controlled machines. Answering a few comments we here have decided to tackle this basic explanation of the responsibilities of owning something like a large scale RC. From property damage, to personal injury, to the risks involved, we take point out the risks involved. There are reasons we run these machines where we do and reasons why we never hand off a larger scale RC to someone who has not been trained to use it properly. There is more to this hobby than "playing" with "toys". The RCs out on the market today are machines, and powerful ones at that. Come along as AJ explains our take on the basics and lets you know how serious this hobby can get it these machines are not handled properly.

This is so valuable! I had to learn the hard way last year, when an old guy on a bicycle fell over my x-maxx. Luckily he was relatively un scaved. But it scared the sht out of me.

Great video!!! Always should be safety first!! Planning is a major part for the enjoyment of the hobby. Gotta have the space and a place for the car you pick. This video needs to be shared as much as possible!! And as always, great video and keep them coming!!! Would love to see some DB pro action with paddle tires!!

Great video AJ. I think I will employ a safety briefing before each run . This might seem over the top for wife and I run together and it's often missed to "look where you're going before you get guilty of it myself. I've got big, heavy, fast rigs that would kill life forms if they are on the receiving end.

I've seen people or animals pop out of nowhere (it happens fast) and hated myself for not employing the above always make sure the coast is clear.

Really nice job AJ and tons of good info for beginners and experienced guys alike as a reminder. It definitely helps keep things in perspective.

Thanks for your safety tips. I now keep my batteries in fireproof sacks inside of a steel ammo box. I did everything wrong with my old batteries (charged them and let them sit for years. They were very puffed out!)
I found that Home Depot and Lowes have battery disposal/ recycling bins in the store.

Very nice channel this here, bought a used Typhon because of you.
The steering is very loose, has a lot of slack. not quite figured out why, wear and tear maybe.
Anyway, very informative channel.
Thanks

Thanks for sharing all this great information. Instinctively when there is a fire in an RC we try to disconnect the battery. Not a smart thing to do and will cost more for medical bills than the car. The burning lithium creates a metal fire existing at temperatures of 2, 000 degrees Celsius/3632 degrees Fahrenheit. That's hard on the skin for sure.

Hold this W for this Safety Video!! Im glad that I can go back to this when i get my Traxxas Slash and Kyosho Fazer Camaro!

A couple of questions tho:

Where can i charge my Lipo batteries if i dont have a garage or a way to charge it outdoors?? Imma get a fireproof box or something like that and a fire extinguisher.

Will the multi class extinguisher help reduce the potential flames or nah?

Can you fast charge a Lipo battery after balance charging them??

So how can I participate in this hobby if I live in an apartment without a garage or outside place to put my batteries?

I've been using a BatBox for storing and charging my batteries....is that OK?

Also...how do you find good locations to run your vehicles? I'd imagine it's not an issue if you live in a rural area, but how bout for us suburban/urban folks?

Do you have any videos on how to make a really stiff shock a little more soft? I am referring to the not so hobby graded rc shocks rather than he toy-ish cheaper ones . Is there a way to at least make them a litle bit better ?
