Have you upgraded to 4K? If not, what changes would get you to make the jump to 4K?

I think 4k really depends on having a TV that can do HDR well. If you can get that you're in business

enjoying 4k collecting however I wouldn't be mad if the pricing went down

OLED is what everyone needs to experience 4K at home.

Just upgraded from a 40inch 60hz 1080p TV to a 43inch 4K HDR. The rich colours and dynamic audio on this new TV made my old TV feel like a fossil.

Just got my first actual TV in about 10 years! LG CX 65" I didn't know movies could look this good!

Super excited to see where 4K goes now that the new consoles will have a 4K Disc Drive built inside the physical editions. I see a lot more 4K tvs in houses now but a lot of people don't go for the full set up like the Blu ray player or even a regular sound system. I think things like the PS5 and Series X are gonna finally open up the floodgate for more people to get into upgrading

Even though I'm new to Blu-ray of any sort, I have been delighted to see how well my existing DVD collection upscales. I watched the Blu-ray (HD) version of the original Ladykillers film, and then watched the Coen Brothers remake on DVD. My system does such a great job of upscaling that I am not conscious of there being any substantive difference. 4K is different. A good 4K HDR presentation is indeed stunning. The main difficulty is with the pricing, which is utterly bonkers. Many 4K packages have the HD Blu-ray bundled in, which points to the fact that the manufacturing costs are minimal, and charging more for 4K is just gouging the market. If prices were the same 4K would be much more popular.

I love 4k Disc, for me
it is about the sound. The Dolby Atmos and some of the new remastered stuff like Top Gun is fantastic.

When I upgraded to my oled tv last month I finally experienced what I think is the pinnacle of physical media. I upgraded my 4k blu ray player and now anytime I watch a movie I'm blown away every time.

4K is probably worth it, but right now I’m still focusing on upgrading several hundred DVD’s to Blu-rays. Unless 4K discs are more reasonably priced or they are significantly better overall than the standard Blu-ray options (like the recent Apocalypse Now 4K), I’ll typically pass on 4K discs.

The problem is once we've all got 4k, they're going to come out with 8k as the next thing everybody needs to get.

Blu ray will have to do for me, which i dont mind since blu ray looks pretty good to my old eyeballs. I collected VHS, then upgraded to dvd, then upgraded my entire collection again to blu ray. No way im upgrading again to 4k. All of my collection is 70's/80's sci-fi movies, horror movies and tv series' Some were hard to track down and some never even made it to blu ray.
At 50 years old my heart just isnt in it enough to start upgrading all over again. Im an old git and could be dead next week 🍻 😂🍻

This video is PERFECT timing!! Just today I was looking into 4K players, and TV’s and you’ve definitely convinced me! Once my room is all set up I’ll probably be upgrading 😁😁 thank you so much for this!

Just watched The Shining on 4k and was blown away. The detail in the picture was just outstanding. And I only have a lower/mid range TV that I got 'free' from Sky.

I'm just hoping that the upcoming Back To The Future box set turns out to be a good one

Suspiria sold me on my 4k investment. It's all about older films for me, my biggest wish is Blue Velvet in 4K, the Criterion is nice but i think it can get even better.

Honestly:No it`s not. I have bought and watched some movies in 4K on UHD disc and was mostly disappointed.I really don`t see much difference.Okay, depends on the movie and release. The Shining was brilliant because we have got the full US version for the first time in Germany and it is...don`t know exactly....around 20 minutes longer, and I loved this version. So that is a good release. Also Terminator 2 looks brilliant, but here it is NOT the long-version, that sucks.Yes, some look better, but is it worth to pay twice the price of a Blu-Ray disc for it? No it`s not.I read a lot of reviews before I buy a UHD disc and mostly it`s like : "Blu-Ray picture quality 80%, UHD disc picture quality : 85%". For the same price...yeah, alright, I`d buy them, but double the price? Nope, thanks.

I have a 4K TV and a Sony 4K player and my recent purchases which include JAWS, The Shining and 2001 A Space Odyssey have really blown me away. They look and sound fantastic.😁👍
