The only Assassins who actually blend in are Altair, Desmond, and Jacob.

thats why teachers dont want us to wear hoods, they know theyre working for the templars!

You would say that after so many ages, Templars would be on alert when they see someone with a hood in a restricted area.

When you buy the distracting women I wonder what your enemies think like

“ *ayo bro why that monk surrounded by women and just walking into our territory* “

That was one of the best details about AC Syndicate: the twins only wore their hoods when sneaking and otherwise looked like normal, everyday people and blended into crowds better. It was also nice to see an AC game where the characters carried more subtle weapons. Brass knuckles, cane swords, and khukiri blades are much easier to conceal in a coat to help remain inconspicuous. Compare that to our most egregious offenders: Connor and Edward who were laden with swords, pistols, a bow, and all sorts of tools.

i found it especially funny in unity where arno is just a 7 foot guy with his blue hood slowly walking through a crowd to assassinate someone and no one suspects anything

They wear hoods to respect their roots : Altair.

Basim, 300 years before Altair, enters the chat:

I think i read someone said that he thinks it's because we are playing their memories from a 3rd person perspective and the characters don't pay much attention to what they were wearing at the time so they recall it being something to help them blend in which is what assassins do so when the memory is viewed they see assassin robes despite it being clothing that fits the assassin rather than clothing that fots being the assassin which i find a nice theory

Fun fact: The hood is pointy to represent an eagle.
Also, the assassin's logo is an eagle's skull from a top perspective

That's smart asf ngl

If you look at the cinematic trailer of ac 2, I think theres a scene his in between the courtesans with his hood but he's pretty easy to miss. I think it still kinda works to blend in

I think the fact you're usually armed with like five weapons at a time would make you more suspicious than a hood

It's a really simple yet very good explanation. Something that once had a practical purpose is now tightly ingrained in the identity of the Assassins that they choose to continue wearing despite its original purpose no longer functioning. Though, to be fair, it's not like they don't have a practical function: the robes of the Assassins are *very* intimidating, and they *do* hide your identity, both very important elements.

Arno’s outfit is the best. It’s clean and actually looks like it blends in, but it’s still got that unique Assassin look to it, with the hood and stuff.

Syndicate was a meh game but I did really appreciate the detail of the Frye twins only wearing the hoods when sneaking.

By this logic school teachers are Templars while certain high ranking staff are the Magisters and the Principal is the head of the Order. Damn i knew it smh
