We also accelerate of off stop lights to get out of the "death zone" of the intersection. Something I have been questioned on; "Why do you stop at an angle at stop lights?" When I'm engine braking, I always slightly apply my rear brake to help control the deceleration and signal that I'm slowing down. It also makes me feel much more experienced than I am.

Two fingers down is actually originally a signal to let each other know all is well behind them as well as to say hello. E.G. tapping the top of your helmet being a sign of warning (heads up) to an on coming rider that their is a danger they are headed for. Remembering and practicing this was a priority when I was growing up on bikes.

being an old school rider for 35 years a lot of these I knew. the standing up method. this also helps when you are moving Ina slow lane with traffic with lots of cars because bikers can do something that cagers cannot, get higher than the roof to see what ahead is happening.
