How to Make a Simple Electric Motor

What is and electric motor?

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. The paper clip and wire connected to the battery creates a closed loop circuit that can carry current. This closed loop also creates its own magnetic field which opposes the magnetic field of the magnet thus making the coil to spin.

I've seen several of these videos, and I have a question. On some videos, they say to remove all of the insulation on one end of the wire, and only half the insulation on the other end. This would make sense, because the electrical (and resulting magnetic) fields would start and stop as the wire rotated. But, it seems to work even with all insulation removed from both ends of wire. Would it work better with half removed on one side?

Most or all of the videos on this experiment don't explain what is really happening. Shouldn't you include an explanation which includes electrical current causing a magnetic field in the wire, and mention the Lorentz force, which is what actually makes the coil spin?
