These are my current favorite 3 axes of the recent months. They are all different in many ways...but luckily, I try MANY so I will keep you updated along the way. Keep in mind, this is NOT an ad. Buy what you want, where you want!

It’s so easy to be fooled by internet people these days. I really hope you are as genuine in person as you seem to be in your videos. There are very few influencers who I would honestly like to have a beer with but you are definitely one of them. Congratulations on your success!

I LOVE IT! He talks like a read blooded man who has a pair and makes straight to the point videos without abusing GUI for over editing purposes. Thumbs up!!

New setup? The video quality is amazing, and the graphics are so professional. The audio is crisp, with no visible mic. I don’t recall watching a content creator whose output is of this high quality.

I am very impressed by the high standards you set for yourself.

I love the videos, keep them coming.

I picked up my x27 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I haven't had any issues with it other than the handle not being rigid enough when you're trying to pry the wood apart after splitting it the handle bends versus pushing the wood apart. But fantastic axe (as a novice).

Hi from Germany, we have 3 companies that you should try.
-Ochsenkopf.
-Bison.
-Adler.
BTW I really like your splitting videos 🤘

Hoffman blacksmithing is a great American company. They make all kinds of axes. It is expensive but worth it for me

Recently got a Stihl pro splitting axe. It was kinda pricey but it’s nice, hickory handle, and lifetime warranty sold me. Been super happy with it so far.

Wow, Thoren, thank you so much for this Video man!

I just love that improved Fireman’s axe,
to function as a wood splitting maul,
it’s my favorite.

I can’t wait to use it one day, soon.

I hope that the manufacturer listens to your advice and ideas,
such as more tapered for less stoppage,
and a longer handle.

I think that what’s coming is very exciting, with your input help.

So, thanks again.

Respectfully Wishing for You & Yours an Extreme Health and Longevity,
Leo

Hey @ThorenBradley, so the Gransfors Bruk splitting maul doesn't have a 7lb head. The overall weight of the axe is 7lb but it has a 5.5 lb head!

I know I said it before, but my Adler Super Splitter is awesome. It's more expensive than the x27, but cheaper than the gransfors. You can get it at around $150. It's around a 6 pound head and I haven't even gotten it close to stuck in anything yet. It just splits. Love it.

The Fiskars has replaced my 6# maul, and can actually be swung with one hand with straight grain logs. Still need the 8# + maul for some of the bigger, twisted stuff. I 100% agree with the handles being too short on most mauls/axes today. Mechanical advantage is a real thing.

Please review hand tools for moving around wood and what methods you like. I use a Fisker's bush hook to set logs and pick stuff up. Its ok, saves the wrists and some bending. This video is helping me decide on purchasing the granfors bruks line of axe's. I use a bunch of swedish axes currently i found in an old barn. Also axe handles reviews.

Just received my Gransfors Bruk, first coat of BLO was just applied can’t wait to use it. Thank you for the recommendations.
Update I used my new axe this morning. It’s freaking awesome I totally understand what you ment by the reverberation. My problem is that since I’ve only been splitting for 2 weeks with the Fiskars. I’m afraid of breaking it due to over strike. Still having a problem getting the axe stuck even after oiling both axes. I’ll chalk it up to inexperience thank you again.

Maybe you should consider making an axe of your own at one point? Since there is no perfect axe on the market, why not try make one? As a partnership with one of the producers and with your online presence i think it would really take off
