WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.

The Atheist Community of Austin is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit organization based in Austin, Texas. The Atheist Community of Austin is dedicated to promoting atheism, critical thinking, secular humanism, and the separation of religion and government.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

The fact that religion has caused this young man to think this way is disgusting to me. He deserves better and I hope he finds his way out of that madness that has been heaped upon him.

I really respect this guy for calling. I hope he got the answers he was looking for and was able to extend his view of the world outside of his closer community. Massive respect for everything he said, it makes me hapy that younger theists are questioning their god and being critical.

Jackson seems very ignorant about atheists, but if this call was honest and representative then he isn't willfully so, and that is to be respected.

Theism: one that knows you exist and doesn't interact with reality.

I'm kind of sad for people laying that kind of life. Jackson was genuine, polite, nice and curious, even though he was insecure. It still took a lot of guts to make that call.
Some people really tried their best to keep him from thinking... And that's the sad part.
I genuinely hope he'll reach out to as many people fun as many countries and backgrounds as possible. It will enrich his life. All the best to you, should you read this!!

I was an atheist for a long time, now I am an antitheist.

How can he call himself a Christian? He finds the story in the Bible illogical, but his environment enables him to believe.

I had more hate when I was religious compared to now that I'm an atheist. I no longer hate atheist. I no longer hate non christian religioins, I no longer hate the LGBTQ. And I no longer hate my self for being a "sinner".

In my experience, most religious people I have spoken to do not understand what atheism is because they have been lied to by their religious leaders about what atheists think or atheism is.
