OMG I remember being 10 years old when this song came out and we visited relatives in North Carolina. My Uncle owned a night club. We went during the day when the children could hang out and dance. He had a juke box and my cousins & friends beg for a quarter to play this song. At first we were not giving up our quarters. Lol
A quarter was like $5 back then - but we finally gave in and we played this song over and over and danced like crazy! My playlist will forever have Teena Marie among the great artists! My children say Mom why you play the same songs over and over again! My answer, isn’t it obvious - these songs are the real real deal for real! Can we say embedded nostalgia! And I still have all my CDs and honestly her cassettes and records in my collection. Love me some Tina Marie! GREAT MUSIC will forever be GREAT MUSIC!

First person to ever "Rap" in their own RnB/Pop song, now so many artists have rappers on their RnB joints. She was a legend and a pioneer.

The only Rock and Roll Hall of Fame oversight bigger than Teena’s exclusion is that of Rick James. She didn’t play an instrument in this performance, but she COULD have. She played as many instruments as Prince. FACT.
