Lady T can sing her ass off. I saw her in concert with Rick James at the Oakland Coliseum, what a concert! Her and Rick sang the hell out of the song Fire and Desire. Her and Rick left us way to soon. Both of them RIP🙏

TEENA MARIE (1956-2010) was a brilliant R&B, Funk and Jazz vocalist and musician. You should check out "Lovergirl", "Behind The Groove", "Ooo La La", "I Need Your Lovin'", and her soulful hits with Rick James "Fire And Desire" and "Sucker For Your Love". R.I.P. "Lady T". 💙

You guys made my day!!!
Teena is missed. I introduced my husband to her back in 2000 when we were dating. He’s a beautiful Black man from Detroit—and I couldn’t believe he had never heard of her! I’m a Latina who loves her R&B, so I had to put him on. This year marks 25 years of marriage for us!

Teena Marie is the absolute truth. I loved your reactions and responses to her music. Best of luck with your channel—it’s amazing to see young people doing something so positive. I’m a girl who was a teen in the ‘80s, so watching you all connect with this music brings me so much joy. Keep it up!

This was a period in time when good music was good music. It didn’t matter who was making it or dancing it. Nobody was “cancelling” bc of appropriation. Thanks for the hits Teena. RIP.💝

This showcases her blend of lyricism and vocals when rap and hiphop were still emerging on the radio.

Even her last 3 albums on No Limit records before she passed away were fire! They were all written composed and produced by her.

I was 20 years old when this song came out, I’m 63 now. This was in every club in the 80’s. So fun to dance to. Tina Marie has a lot of great songs. Glad to see you enjoying it.
