Great review! Addressed some concerns I have about buying a BMW. With all the stuff you see and hear online, you get the feeling that these things will just fall apart on you in no time. Everything you mentioned seemed pretty normal for most used vehicles out there.

These are a great car, I was lucky enough to get a M version, in red. Mine is RHD so I think only 2500 made, I don't think we will see cars like tis any more. I guess now days people just want appliances and that now includes cars. Still as a weekend car, they are a great way to get the wind in your hair and enjoy that straight 6 roar... Hello everyone, I owned a 2003 Z4 2, 2L 6cylinder in silver and I really enjoyed the driving experience of the car it had 93k miles on it and it was as tight as a drum.
The jobs that it required were a service with new plugs filter etc, I had to replace the coolant expansion tank which had a leak, the starter motor failed after giving notice by slow cranking.
I chose to have the alloys re powder coated so they looked like new, 2 new rear tyres a bit thread bare.
Nice upgrades adding after market heated seats, BECAUSE THE EARLY WIRING ALLOWED I sorced and installed cruise control stalk, the best upgrade was the SPORT button, you could feel the acceleration improvements when you switched it on, need I say more.

I sold it due to lack of use and my wife is still telling me to get another one, I may follow her advice.

We have similar stories and bought cars around same time for same reasons. Mine has smaller motor and automatic but same year and miles almost exact.
I live in Seymour area and interested in your mechanic if you don't mind mentioning.
I would like mine check out and curious about suspension.

haha, I got my E86 just one month after your E85, I put 60000 KM on the car with daily driving it, I will keep it until I can find a boxster S or E89 35IS ( enough with mountain road driving and start envy the open roof...)
