Nintendo Switch: How to Back Up Save Data to Cloud

How to back up Nintendo Switch save data to the cloud using an online membership. This is both for all games automatically and on an individual game basis. OLED used but also works for Lite and regular.

Is backing up data only done manually or does it automatically? If it's automatic will you constantly get annoying notifications that data can't be backed up if you're playing without internet for a while?

So you have to pay for them to save your data .. even you don’t own a switch because previous I owned one then got the old version to play the games I still have them, got the membership again I thought it would keep your saved files but ig not .. is there a way to restore the back up files previously? Because I had a lot of games backup and now they’re not there because I didn’t continue on paying for the membership…

ok so my little brother has autism and he accidently wiped all my data of super mario oddysey they he closed the game and restarted it so it overwrites the backup anyway i can get the old back up?

I still don't quite understand what does saving data cloud mean for the switch.

Does it mean if your switch doesn't work or it breaks suddenly, when getting like a new game you can still get your save files right?? Just by logging into the same account??
