I have always been bad at knitting, so I tried WOOLANDTHEGANG's tutorial, and taught myself how to do it through Youtube videos today :) I feel good

Hopefully if you don't know how to do something, this video will encourage you to keep trying anyway haha

Love you so much, sending you well wishes

Hope you are well and see you next time!

There is a new GOLDEN pin, so be sure to leave a comment

New videos every Wednesday and Saturday from now on ^__^
And DorkyEverAfter is back this Sunday!

Kindest Regards,
Jamie Jo

At my school we are making squares then we finish our squares and make a big blanket to donate to homeless people. We do it every Friday and call it swam students with a mission.
Edit: wow thanks so much for the love

I like to knit! Right now I'm working on a scarf... I knit one row each day for a whole year, and the color of the row is based on the day's high temperature.

It's the weather for the whole year, in scarf form! It's really a fun project if you ever wanted to try it :)

I’m a 17 year old who learned how to knit and crochet in middle school! And I really enjoy it! Crochet was a lot harder to pick up for me. You got this! If youtube taught me how to then youll be able to :) i skipped to the end i couldn’t help it and it looks great!

Beautiful! Good job, Jamie! Before my Grandma passed away in 2004 she started teaching me how to crochet but she only got as far as teaching me how to make a chain. A couple years ago the want to make a Jayne Cobb hat (from Firefly) got to me and I learned how to properly do some crocheting! I'm still very basic in my crocheting, but I just like to do something with my hands. I made another hat, a scarf, and a lap/baby blanket since Christmas (I kinda set it down for a while since I made the Jayne hat). I always wanted to learn how to knit, not necessarily do it regularly but just know how it works since you always see people in movies knitting so fast and clinking their needles together! The other day, although it was not what I should have done, I taught myself how to cast on and do the same basic stitch you did! I've spent maybe at most 3 hours knitting so far (I don't even think I've done 20 rows). It is fun once you get it, but I prefer to crochet (but I like the knit look better!). I was thinking of knitting a Jayne Cobb hat as my first project, but I just looked at the tools needed on the pattern and it has needles I don't have (and can't go buy right now). So, as much fun as having two Jayne Cobb hats that were my first projects would be...I already have all the yarn to make the Doctor's scarf, so instead of crocheting it I think I'll knit it. That will be a lot easier anyways! Same pattern as yours! I just need to learn how to change colors and cast off and I can get started!

I tried knitting in high school and I just couldn't pick it up. I tried crochet later and now I LOVE it. It's my main hobby. I still have tons of knitting needles, so i plan to try again sometime.

Currently watching this while crocheting. I love crochet so much more than knitting. I learned to knit first and crochet secondly. Crochet is so much more freeing since you don’t need your entire project on a needle. It’s also much easier to fix mistakes. And your absolutely right. Anyone dabbling in crochet or knitting needs to keep the yarn away from their cats unless supervised. They can play with it just not eat it. I work as a vet assistant and seen way too many cases of cats eating yarn and getting it twined in their intestines. Too many sad, preventable, euthanasia’s.

The right tutorial makes all the difference. It took me a week to pick up knitting, it took 20 years to figure out how to do the basic stitch in crochet correctly.

Good job for persisting and learning something new. You're doing great and your tension and stitch size are wonderfully even. You should be very proud of yourself for not giving up on learning something you found hard and working on it . Hugs 💕
