In my grappling experience, judokas are pretty similar to wrestlers in the mental and power stuff

182 countries compete in Judo for the Olympics. It’s super popular worldwide. Just not as much in America

I'm a Judoka and Karateka as well. When I can't get the guy with kicks and punches Judo takes care of it. I'm older now but I can still throw a guy.

Why is Judo not for beginners? You have to start with each sport at beginner level.

Well, it's leaps and bounds better than BJJ.
Judo in my eyes is very good to add to your martial art road.
Me I did karate, kickboxing, Thai boxing, and dipped into Judo and loved it.

Went to Judo training for about 2 months after being over 20. It was fun, but besides bad time management(essentially spending 60 dollars per month for 1-2 hours per week) I had 2 issues. 1 training throws is difficult cause you are afraid not to hurt your partner. I know they prepare you and your partner and watch you specifically so that could be prevented, but it's atill a thought that made me too anxious. And 2, I had some knee issues at the time and the constant fear that if I were to land badly I could twist my knee around and have to stop most physical training altogether severely demotivated me.
I still had fun with the ground fights though and I enjoyed the time spent there, but I guess without the early training from childhood, I wasn't qble to put my all into it.
