Hitler preordered the Boeing B-52 apparently, the B-52 first flew in 1952 though and so the Messerschmitt Me-264 or Junkers Ju-390 would have been more likely

A nuclear bomb did not need to hit the ground to explode, it basically had a timing mechanism built into it.

A far more scary thought was how close Hitler was to getting this really early in the war, had a few things not set them beck several years its plausible the Nazis would have built it first.

You understand an atomic bomb would detonate pretty high in the air correct? If a detonated on the ground, it would be a very concentrated impact, and likely would not achieve nearly as much damage as an air burst detonated atomic bomb. Not to say it wouldn't be catastrophic, it most certainly would be. Anatomic bomb is still an atomic bomb regardless of whether it's in the air or on the ground, I'm just saying that if your animation wanted to maximize the damage impact, it would have to detonate in the air. One other note, where did the Nazis get a post-war B-52?
