Thinking about it, I think "The Wrong Trousers" may genuinely be one of the greatest films ever made. It's made with love and enthusiasm by craftspeople at the height of their game, making the story they want to make. It's perfect family viewing without doing the "and here's yet another joke for the parents that will go over the kids' heads" thing. You're excited by the action sequences because you care about the characters. Characters behave in a way that flows naturally from their personality. The visual gags are genuinely funny. It works as well today as when it was first shown.

I can’t believe I forgot about this. This short was pretty much my childhood. Though in retrospect, a lot of my favorite action scenes have been unconsciously held to this sort of standard. Big part of why I like Fury Road.

If this first episode is any indication, this series is going to be wonderful. So well explained, and the idea of explaining a perfect action scene through Wallace & Gromit is genius. The cutaways to great writers explaining the concepts you brought up kept thins constantly informative and interesting, and the cherry on top was that sweater you were rocking :D
