Feels like a money laundering operation. Working people can't afford these prices.

I think congress should pass a law prohibiting corporations to purchase residential properties. They can buy commercial properties, but not residential homes.

Ban foreign ownership of multiple homes. Ban corporations from purchasing single family homes.

I bought a 30ft boat 8 years ago cause I refused to keep paying rent on a place I'll never own. Lived on it, put the money I saved in the Bank, bought 2.3 acres of property and will soon build my own home on it. No bidding war and no more giving up my money for something that will never be mine. And I still got a boat!

Owning a home used to give you some security for your life span and provide for the next generation, but the greed of realtors, investors, and bankers keep destroying our economy, jobs, and home ownership.

31 years old. Saving to buy a house since 2013. Recently made an offer on a house in Pittsburgh and bid $10, 000 over the asking price. I lost to someone who bid $60, 000 over asking price and waived the appraisal. I can’t compete with that. Currently paying 1, 900 a month in rent with my fiancée for a 1 bedroom town house. All the homes we are seeing in good school districts go far above asking price and sell inside of 2 days with multiple offers. It’s brutal.

Bought a house in 2016 for $250k, sold it in November of 2020 for $900k. It’s safe to say we have experienced high inflation.

In Maine. My rent went from 1, 100 a month to 1, 600 in a year. 500 dollars. I am barely scraping by, and I cannot find a job anywhere closeby that would pay me more and I literally graduated college with an IT degree 3 months before COVID hit. A lot of my friends making less than 30k cannot afford a simple 1 bedroom anymore. The bigger complexes are bought off by the rich people moving into the state, leaving locals fleeing back to their parent's house.

Sadly in the O.C if you were born in the ninties, and didn't buy when your 10, you have been priced out 😡😡😡

If you are working... and can’t afford to buy a house... Then why are you working? America this is your country, you make the laws, why would you live in a country that won’t let you get sick, live where you want and study what you want? It’s like you’re taken hostage in your country! #Why

My husband and I (22 and 26) finally got our down payment and approval to buy a home this year. In our area now, the only homes we can afford are barely livable 2 bedrooms that get bought up instantly anyways. It’s only getting worse and feels so hopeless.
We’ve done everything “right.” At this rate, we won’t ever bring children into this world.

Back in the day? It was 2008. Damn I feel old and I am only 26 🤣

The investor's ability to buy houses needs to be regulated. It is creating homelessness, rental price increases that are unaffordable, and keeping middle class people from buying houses.

We need to put a law into place where no one person can own more then 2 houses and ban foreign ownership

Tax house flippers and empty housing at a much higher rate.

This same thing keeps on happening over and over again! Powerful people are doing this on purpose!

A housing crash is going to be the only opportunity for younger millennials to buy a home.

I sold a home with 21 offers. I took an offer from a family who wrote a letter that hit the heart. A month after closing I see my house for rent. Played my ass. The offer wasn't the highest.
