Epiphytes are so aptly named for their ability to grow outside of soil; clinging to trees and other organic bodies in the wild. These Tillandsia species are no different, and when I tried to remove this one from my air plant frame, I was surprised to see it resist. Turns out, it had started rooting itself to the wall, and could hang there completely on its own 😮⁣

Unfortunately I had to remove it because it needed a quick soak but still so cool to see. I know many of you have probably had similar experiences with other houseplants, but it is kinda rewarding an exciting seeing a plant do what it does in nature inside of your home ecosystem.
