WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?

Every day many Catholics leave the Church.

Many of the reasons they leave the Church have more to do with them not knowing enough about their faith or lacking spiritual strength. We are here to help with both of these issues.

Our mission is to help get people to Heaven. To educate and inspire Catholics to defend and live out their faith and grow closer to God. It is also our mission to lead non-Catholics into conversion to the Catholic faith.

Actually the bible does refer to babies and children being baptized.

1 Corinthians 10:2….. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

This means everyone regardless of age was baptized.

Baptism is personal and conscious decision that is made when someone understands its meaning, like asking for forgiveness from Christ. Otherwise you’re just praying while your baby is taking a bath. Also, the Bible never mentions baby’s getting baptized, it’s something you you after giving yourself to Christ. An outward expression of what’s going on on the inside.

But belonging to Christ is personal choice. There were no babies baptised in the Bible only repentant adults

So, it's no longer in association with original sin?

This video misrepresents Protestant beliefs.. they do not believe baptism is ONLY for forgiveness of sin. That’s a bit divisive(but it is just a clip) I can see both interpretations points of view and think it is an interesting debate. I’m personally on the fence. I think it really boils down to whether baptism is a sacred act or symbolic recollection. Jesus does say you must be born in the spirit and the water to enter the kingdom of heaven. But he was replying to a conversation with Nicodemus, and could be interpreted as him saying you must be born in the spirit AND the physical body to make it into heaven, rather than him saying you must be submerged in water baptism to make it to heaven. 1Peter says baptism is an expression of believers new life in Christ. Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works. Is baptism faith or works? I could argue both sides but honestly ill probably baptize my kids when they are a baby to incorporate them into Christ and the church and then also encourage them to be baptized a second time to willingly and publicly declare a deeper level of faith and commitment to Christ once they have a more clear individual understanding. I am a new follower of Christ and I’m still learning, but I believe it’s most important to have a personal relationship and commitment with Christ before anything. I have not yet been baptized but I signed up to be baptized this easter! I just pray to have discernment and the ability to hear when the Holy Spirit tells me to do something so I can use my life to glorify God.
