NASA released four more color images from the James Webb Space Telescope on Tuesday. The images showed details of the Southern Ring Nebula, Stephan's Quintet and the Carina Nebula. NASA also released an image showing the spectrum of starlight passing through the atmosphere of an exoplanet 1,150 light-years from Earth. Webb operations scientist Jane Rigby said the "deep field" image, which was unveiled at the White House on Monday, captured so much detail. "We’re seeing the galaxies in a way we’ve never been able to see before. There’s just a sharpness and clarity we’ve never had," she added.

I love how Michelle Thaller said "For everyone on earth, this is YOUR telescope". I've always felt like that. It belongs to all of us. This is such an exciting time to be alive <3

NASA - creates the world's most powerful telescope. Able to take images of galaxies nearly 3 billion light years away.

Also NASA - can't tune in with half their audience in real time, and 30+ awkward transitions 😆

“Wow, that’s hard. She’s doing a great job”
Anyone else heard that when they had the streaming issue with Canada and put that lady on the spot! She really did a great job! All of this is just mind blowing!!!

If only the whole world worked together on this. Imagine what more we could achieve. 🙁

Dr. Michelle Lynn Thaller is an inspiration to my wife, my daughter and I. She is contagiously excited about every topic that she talks about in astronomy. She is a force of nature. Thanks, Dr. Thaller.

I love her necklace. I wish more people were excited about space like I am. I'd say 1 percent of my FB friends have shown interest in it. THIS is what should be on the news every day. Not celebrity gossip. I miss my man Carl, but Michelle's enthusiasm for Webb and the Cosmos is matchable!

The details on that spectra for the wasp planet is insanely accurate.

Ah yes, we can see billions of years back but can’t have a live stream that looks anything made after 1989.

Also the whispering 😭

Billions of stars contained in just one galaxy, and thousands if not millions of galaxies captured in just one photo. There has to be forms of life out there and I hope JWT will one day accidentally make that discovery.

To be honest, as a laymen the images look nice and all but what I'm really excited for is all the cool new mind-bending science that could come of this.

Yeah, it's almost a shame that we humans can't pull together as a planet and actually help each other instead of all the hate. If that were possible we could evolve enough to reach those galaxies. 🧐

We aren’t alone, we are LEFT ALONE
We are still a primitive and violent species with much to learn.

When you’re covering a team that’s getting high resolution images from an observatory roughly one million miles away and you can’t manage a live stream with the neighboring country. 😂

James Webb should zoom in on earth and take a picture of Australians driving around upside down. That would be amazing to see how magical and powerful the effects of gravity can be.

Imagine the stuff they don’t show us or tell us 0.0

why is this video 720p? kind of sabotages the HD footage, don't you think? 🙄
