I like the progression of Alex going from focusing on himself to focusing in others. He says, "It's quiet uptown, I never like the quiet before" first, then states how Phillip would like it uptown. And as he gets through his grief, he cares about Eliza's feelings, thinking about what he can still change since it's too late to save Phillip. I see this when he asks Eliza if she likes it uptown. I like this little detail because if show that Phillip's death, although it broke Alex's heart, changed him into a better person

I picture him smile, when Eliza breaks down in tears and falling into Alex's arms who's hugging her back, also crying. Then it fades out and they walk home, holding hands, the ghost of Philip following them.

This song is heartbreaking, but I don't think I would've cried without Alexander's "If I could trade his life for mine" verse. The emotion got so much deeper there. He was choked up more so than the rest of the song. He seemed like he was crying, even sobbing. Lin did such a good job voicing it right there. That made me burst into tears.
