How to: Replace an Entire Ceiling Fan

Just note that I, a humble one man team, crafted this video using my spare time with the express goal of sharing knowledge for those with inexperience. If you would have told me this video would someday be the third result when you search "how to replace a ceiling fan" on the internet, I would've never believed it. NO MID-ROLL ADS.

Questions? that's cool. I might be able to help. Depends on the fan. Also, check the instructions if you have them.

Whoever disliked the video is jealous of my badass ceiling fan

This is by far my most viewed video. Common questions answered here:
-The blue fan is a Hampton Bay Cameron II Plus manufactured somewhere in the late 90s.
-The old fan is a Craftsman 52" of some sort, don't really know
-The old fan is not for sale; my grandparents wanted to keep is as a back up.
-I acquired the blue fan from an old house I no longer live in. I took it with when I moved out and replaced it with a different fan. I couldn't leave such a beauty behind.

-The video has about 1,000,000 views, which is completely beyond my scope of comprehension. What an incredible milestone! Thank you everyone for stopping by!

Hello, I apologize for the unprofessional demeanor in this video. I made this when I had like 200 subscribers, and didn't expect anyone to actually watch it. I am aware the music is a bit loud and there are a few things I would do differently if I were to make the video again. Instead of leaving a dislike, consider leaving some constructive criticism. If you decide to stick around, you'll find mostly Jeep content unless you have any ideas for me. I might make more electrical tutorials, it depends who wants what. I appreciate all the views and I hope an equal amount of ceiling fans have been installed worldwide.

ALSO - If you get any MID ROLL ADS on this video, please leave a comment to let me know! I hate advertisements interrupting anything I'm doing, especially when I'm trying to learn. I have intentionally disabled mid-roll ads on every single one of my videos, but I've heard YT is just putting them on anyway. If you do get a mid roll ad, that's 100% on YT, not me, and there isn't anything I can do about it.

We've hit 1, 000, 000 views, which is an incomprehensible milestone that I thank you all for!

I have a Harbor Breeze fan that we installed in 2011. In 2016 we moved out of that house and I took said fan with me to the house where I live now. Nine years and still running great!

This is not only the BEST tutorial for installing a fan, it is also just an incredibly entertaining video and I am MAD jealous of the coolest fan on the planet.

I am very glad you made this video because I have never installed a ceiling fan or any light fixture alone, but I actually understood your tutorial and I feel confident that I can replace the fan in my daughter's room I have been waiting to have done but it seems my brothers have been to busy and unable to assist with. Hopefully I don't find any surprises after taking the old one down, but here goes nothing. And again thank you for making this video.

I worked electrical retail for 10 years and hung my share of fans.... you disassembled and assembled it exactly like you're suppose to. very nice! I hate those hampton bay fans with that style of mounting.... too many parts and its makes it really hard to wiring done when you have almost zero clearance to work with.... but, you did it! love the blue.... the glass shades are expensive to replace! that color is hard to find! when changing out a fan, always remove the blades by the arms.... I hate it when I see fans in thrift stores and garage sales when they still have the blades attached... the blades get warped that way and makes the fan get out of balance....not to mension, ruins the blades!

I can definitely agree Cameron fans are definitely the coolest fans on the face of the planet. I had a brown one with 3 lights in my old house. BTW, what did you do with the old fan?

My entire light kit has detached from the fan portion and is a fire hazard with how it flickers. It hangs over my daughter's bed. So, we are replacing it ASAP. This video makes it seem really easy!

In my opinion square bit screws should be the only ones made! So much better than Phillips or flat blade.

That is a very cool fan! Great tutorial! My ceiling fans are getting old and dated so I'll hopefully be trying my hand at ceiling fan installation sometime soon.

Might be good also to get rid of that popcorn ceiling look. It was probably put up with the outdated fan that you replaced.

Old fan is made by Alaska. If it says Emerson somewhere on top of the motor then it's Emerson Northwind.

I'm doing a fan swap tomorrow.. I'm not very good with home improvement type stuff but since you can find just about anything on youtube I looked up how to do a fan swap and your vid popped up first so I saved it and will use it as a blue print! Thanks Sir
