Back when we had real hardware stores most workers were knowledgeable on fixing stuff. I’ve got a cousin, she’s been in the hardware business since she started working in one after school at 15, she’s in her mid 60’s now and probably more knowledgeable at fixing most stuff around the house than most men. During the 08’ and 09’ recession. She gained a lot of customers because people couldn’t afford to hire someone to fix their stuff. Lowe’s and Home Depot didn’t have a lot of people with the appropriate knowledge to give customers help on what they needed to know. I have been in her store when people would come in with disassembled parts and say I need parts to make this work. 95% of the time she had what they need to get them going again. Knowledge is power, but we seem to forget that a lot of the time.

So what would the problem be if your getting blue dye barely dripping in the bowel? Thats whats happening to me but the flapper is new since it came in the kit. Im puzzled and need some help

Well done, I do the same with the tank bolts I always check to make sure the nuts are not bigger than the holes in the bowl if their to big there's a possibility when you tighten down the tank you might Break it

i have a question. My water supply line is weird. I cant see any hex screw that connects to the shut off. The supply line is all smooth and seems or looks like the supply line is permanently on the shut off. But its a old style metal supply line and its painted, someone painted the metal supply line and shut off valve with paint to matcj the bathroom wall trim. So i was thinking just pretend there is a hex nut at the bottom even though it looks smooth like one piece. Maybe they make some round hex nuts? I dont know. And just tighten around it with wrench and try to unloosen . Or that will F it up? And there is a one off shut off that nobody useses that has the supply like built in to the shut off so if u wanted to replace the supply line you wouod have to replace the shut off to do it. So answers ?

Should the tube that fills the tank and is attached to “overflow pipe” pour the water inside the pipe or outside of the pipe, directly into the tank?
