"I'm speaking" is something her rivals must understand.
"I hear you" is what citizens deserve.

I prefer calling them anti-genocide demonstrations rather than pro-Palestine.

The campaign is in fundraising mode, the campaign is probably going to be vague until the Convention. This does not mean that people should not be putting pressure on Kamala.

Progressives....U.S. foreign policy is greater than one presidential candidate. Write/call your mayor, your city council member, your state assembly, your house representative, your senator, every official who represents you, en masse...do this now, do this up to election day, do this between elections...yes, of course you have the right to protest the president and the spotlight when you do so. But to effect change, you need large numbers of power players on your side. Get them. That's how you do it.

I hate to say it but Hillary scolding BLM protestors in 2016 didn't work out that well. Please take a better approach and speak to these activists.

She handled this much better the Hillary Clinton did back in 2016 and Trump at any time.

I can't even dispassionately write the things that are in the news about what's happening in Gaza without my comments being immediately removed.
The bare facts are so shocking and abhorrent that the platform has built in safeguards to prevent people from learning of them.
And honestly, I wish I could erase some of the stuff I've learned about the things happening there. I literally have trauma from reading those words in those order. I can't even imagine the pain of what the people involved went through

This is the first mistake she has made so far. I hope her people really put it to her that this was a dangerously bad reaction. Israeli genocide and US complicity is the one issue that can bring her down. If she is stupid enough to disrespect anti genocide protesters she isn’t a good enough politician and may lose. She is the anti Trump candidate. Her current popularity is the result of relief from the electorate. Missteps like this could stop her momentum and open the door for a Trump revival.

This gets lost with a lot of people with the Gaza issue, but as the sitting VP, Kamala literally cannot come out with a different/stronger position on Israel than Biden. She cannot say or do anything that could undermine current US policy as set by the President. So demanding for her to come out with a policy platform on the issue is just as fruitless as demanding Trump and the R's do it. She has strongly signalled and dogwhistled that she is on the right side of this issue, but her current office is constraining her. I wish more people would understand that, and I hoped the talking heads on this show above many others would understand that as well.

Her response is kind of hilarious to me. As a black man having experience with multiple generations of no-nonsense black women in my life, this does not mean she was being dismissive or ducking the question. She was indicating she heard them, but there's a time and place for that conversation. It also sounds like she already started having conversations around this, so it's not like she's ignoring it completely. I'd like her make her stance known, but I'm okay waiting for her to have discussions with these groups to form a more informed stance.

And yes, they need to be doing this at Republican rallies and town halls as well. Especially if most in congress are still in support of providing weapons to a war criminal. The president can't do much, if they don't have the support they need.

Emma's willingness to trust Kamala's intentions right now is completely reasonable and, honestly, well deserved. Kamala reached out to us with her VP pick despite the risks of jilting the establishment around her, let's trust her with this matter for a brief moment and let her do what she does best: present the case.

I thought she handled it fine. She was initially polite. They didn't calm down. So she had to shut it down.

"She hasn't sat down for an interview in over a month". Ahem, she has only been a Candidate for 2.5 weeks. Also, Trump is just hiding in his shitty resort. She talks about policy and priorities around the country. She answers questions from journalists as well.

Well here's hoping. The anti genocide and anti climate change crowd aren't ready to give up.

She is listening and hearing people. I am giving her a chance before condemning her.

Meh. At this point it's like we are living in different worlds. When lgbtq were pressuring Obama the other option wasn't a dictator. They werent afraid of not just losing their current battle, but other freedoms as well. This feels VERY much so like a level of virtue signaling. If Trump wins, this channel may no longer be allowed to exist. I can understand being true to principles, this just doesn't seem to be the most strategic take. Also, no problem with Kamala's response. She has freedom of speech as well.

Nobody has shown how the interruption ends. Were the people escorted out or what happened?!

This comment section is wild lol.
I learned a while ago that even in situations where my instinct is to be more pragmatic than idealistic, I'm still glad there are people out there who are more concerned about the truth than strategic comms. It's good that someone is out there saying The Thing.
People who are against pressuring Kamala on this are effectively advocating to take Palestine off the agenda as a voting issue completely. After the year we've just had, that's wild. If I were in the US, I'd be voting for Harris. I might even have voted for Biden. But I'm never going to shit on protestors (who's perspective I agree with!!) for pressuring her to improve her position on a given issue.
