a tip for people trying to learn EVH solos, timing and feel is everything! just because you read the tabs and know all the notes, doesn’t mean you “can play” it. there is always more nuance than you think. use tab in conjunction with ear training (slowing the original track/isolated track down), tab can’t always teach you timing

Hey, I found this quite interesting. I didn’t realise what was happening in the second speaker. No I do thank you for pointing that out, I am a blind musician that’s been playing for quite a few years now, I’ve always found Van Halen to be a bit intimidating, but I’m gonna have a go With learning this using that, and instead of the one that everyone else knows, keep on rocking!

I think this video came out a year too late for it to apply to me, but I am pretty sure given a day of practicing that I could play it a year ago.

That being said, anyone who's just now learning or thinking about learning, start now. The first few months I could play that and barely a year later I could play it in 20 minutes of learning and practice. The only way to make guitar playing easier is to have experience with it, and that comes from starting ASAP.

That's a revelation..been listening to this for ages, never picked a sitar in there. Always knew there was some added effect but never guessed sitar and that too played differently from the guitar riff. Great stuff 👏
