What I read about his story was he don't want to die at age 25 because of the mark, his first goal was not hatred or competition, but cowardice.

Even in the manga with his moon breathing. The demon slayers almost lost. Only reason he lost was because he saw himself in his own blade and didn't recognize himself. Thus giving up. So moon breathing or sun breathing if kokoshibo really wanted to fight them and not given up they would have lost hands down

He feared the death factor of the mark, knowing he had already got it. Yorrichi jealousy was a big factor, sure, but it was more becuase he had a similar goal to muzan in a way. He knew he would gain strength to beat yorrichi (which he never did) and he wanted to live as long as possible.
And don’t forget, he’d add forms to sun breathing and there’d probably be 20 forms. Since we didn’t know how many forms moon breathing initially had (it wasn’t 16 💀), we don’t know how many he added and so we don’t know how many sun breathing forms he’d make.

Well, I doubt if Muzan would decide to turn Michikatsu into a demon in such a case. Even changing the user of the second most powerful breathing style was risky, let alone the user of the most powerful style. Yes, I agree that in such a case Kokushibo would have a much better chance of defeating Muzan, although he would still have to watch out for him. Same with Yoriichi.

A sun breathing koku woulda been deadly but surpass his brother nahhh when the demon king himself is literally terrified of you and you slice him into a 1000+ pieces then no not even sun breathing koku would be much different he'd definitely be more of a challenge then muzan

Nah kokushibo would still lose since even tho yorrichi was very old and about to die he still defeated kokushibo he didnt get to kill him bc he died the last second
