I bought one last week because of my type of need. I bought it because of the kind of shooting I want. People talk about low light which is less practical in real shootings. So I trim down from gopro 12 and come to osmo 4 and to finally osmo 3. So it is a big YES even in March 2024. Btw I do shoot from mountain cycling to jumping to weddings and to off-road wagons which is almost everything.
Edit: Color is nothing to be worried about in 2024 as you have tons of options for manipulation/correction.
Focus has zero issues. Know your tool and your tool will help you out.

I like the fact that you can plug a USB mic into the thing and don't need to pay for an adaptor dongle.

Love the action 3, quick release is great, also rocksteady is better in woods compaired to gopro. Also manual settings are the way to go. Long battery life aswell. Glad i switched from gopro to dji

I've seen the Action 3 enclosed in ice but still being able to record. That alone makes for a pretty solid argument for the DJi Osmo Action 3.

The firmware update only added extra sharpening, focus issue is hardware error and needed to be adjusted.

I'm pretty excited for what the Action 4 has to offer. The improvements since the original Osmo Action came in leaps and bounds plus I love their drones so buying the Action if/when I'm in need of an action cam is very much a no brainer.

I was just about to buy an Action 2, but realised that it won´t work below 0 degrees celsius and that the screen module isn´t waterproof. Therefore thinking of an Action 3...

Can the action 3 zoom in to see the date on a coin? I metal detect and sometimes the small date is hard to see. I currently use my phone and zoom in.

Okay, nice one . Got a question. What’s your honest take on this. I got the action 1, got 4 extra batteries with it plus an ND filter, so far so good . Do you recommend I upgrade to Action 3 adventure combo ?

I just got the action 3 after I ruin two of my action first generation by being some knockoff batteries. I personally like the image and the colour of the action 3 compared to GoPro. Its pretty easy to use. I would like DJI to make a case similar to the action first gen so I can use all the other accessories I have plus I would feel more secured when doing some snorkelling in heavy strong water courrants

Hi, you mentioned that the focus problem got better after the updates on the action 3. But according to others, it was the incorrect calibration of the lens that was the problem. How do they manage to fix this with an update. Then the problem is incorrect installation. Thanks👍

Have you tried to make a lens adjustment? The video still looks soft on you only in focus in the background that would drive me nuts. I just placed an order for the Action 3 full kit. I do have the older action. I really want the better stabilization and the horizontal. I am going for the Action 3 in place of buying a gimbal for my larger cameras. I am hoping the video quality is a big step up from the older action. If its not in focus well I might try the turning of the lens to focus it or send it back. Will the older action ND filters fit the new action 3?

Very much enjoyed your video. I've been using the Hero 10 for more than a year now. And overall, I am pretty satisfied with it. However, in low-light conditions (lit up city/urban scenes, sunrise/sunset) to hero 10 is very lacking. It creates a lot of noise in the video in Low-light, in any resolution. If you do a hyperlapse it is generally pretty good in low-light. That is the main reason I'm leaning towards getting the Action 3. It's 1 1/7 sensor is basically the same as what is on the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone and the low light footage off of that, while not perfect, is amazing, in my opinion. Very much liked you comparing the Hero 10 to the OA3. Most of the other videos compare the OA3 to the Hero 11.

Interesting when you mentioned about the three sharpness options on GoPro. But for me, i am using GoPro to record family events and travel where i would prefer copy and pass without the need for editing. That's why I love DJI Pocket 2. Sharp and clear.

My question is, does the video sharpness on Action 3 similar to Pocket 2?

Hello I've just ordered this product but do you have the option to film in 8 bit as I use the free version of DaVinci resolve and it doesn't let you edit using 10 bit

The firmware DOES NOT remove the focus issue. It masks it.
