I live in Austin and I can attest that Kym’s portrayal of Austin and the Grand Prix are spot on. Expect massive queues at the airport on the Monday after the race.

Hearing Danny had a special helmet ready for Austin this year is even more heartbreaking :(

I remember the first race in 2012 very fondly. At the time I worked for one of the major tech companies in the area who also sponsored one of the teams. Somehow I convinced upper management to let me be the primary technical contact for the team while they were at the race. Before the race I was able to meet a few of the engineers, the drivers, as well as check out one of the cars. It was a great week and weekend for sure.

As someone from Texas, if you have to stay outside of Austin, Dallas and Houston are too far away to be driving in everyday. Instead stay in San Antonio (about 60 minutes away) or San Marcos (35 minutes away) they are the sister cities to Austin.

We go to about 5 F1 races a year and Austin remains my favorite F1 race. Great track, city, crowd and atmosphere.

Best transportation secret if you do not have priority parking- the Barton Creek shuttle. Avoid Lot F at all costs.

Tip to save money - fly into and stay in San Antonio. Only 1 hour and 20 minutes from COTA. And an awesome tourist town with its famous Riverwalk. Dallas is 2 hours 45 minutes and hours is 2 hours and 25 minutes.

Thanks for the videos! I went to the ‘23 USGP with a general admission pass and had an absolute blast. Missed meeting up with you because I don’t have social media to see where you’d be. My mom bought me a couple of your digital images to print as a memento and they’re hanging up beautifully on my wall. Fun fact: COTA has nights from spring to fall where you can ride your bike on the track. Oh, and the bats are only there March to September—they live in Mexico the rest of the year.

My wife and I have been watching the Austin GP since inauguration in 2012 at Turn 1. Always a great spot at the start of the race. Epic spot!

Hello Kym, I purchased #54 of Colapinto's print for my nephew in Argentina. He does not know about it yet, it is a surprise. I'm staying in Waco Texas for race day (about 1 north of Austin), for a fraction of the cost.

Thanks for the lovely video in this raceless period and in the middle of the night. 😅 You always manage to tell something interesting with beautiful photographs. And nice to see that I'm not the only person awake. ❤

I would argue Nashville is the "live music capital", Broadway is 6th street but on another level and bars that have multiple floors often have a different band on each floor. Austin is still a great city though

Austin is the best race in the USA for the racing fan. Miami and LV like you had mentioned in the past are for the glitz and glamor.
