Thank you to everyone whose been supporting this channel - It means more than you know to me!🖤🎂 Today I really want to focus on the way Tiktok pushes junk food and un-wellness using some of the same strategies that "big food" has taught us to defend them. A very short read I referenced a few times in this one is "The corporate capture of nutrition" by Gyorgy Scrinis.

The people who defending feeding kids crap for breakfast are the same ones who would have a meltdown if an almond mom showed herself feeding her kids a smoothie and an egg for breakfast.

literally hate the term mom shaming. SOME PARENTS **ARE** DOING THEIR CHILDREN A DISSERVICE THROUGH THEIR ACTIONS

"If we find a skinny and healthy person doing the same thing...." So you admit it. Fat isn't healthy.

They are not defending the mom
They are defending the junk food

What makes them think that if I'm not ok with the powdered donuts that I am ok with the sugary cereals etc? That's not the gotcha they think it is.

A disturbingly large number of dietitians and nutritionists are very dedicated to doing the exact opposite of their jobs.

Dirt is even cheaper than soda and donuts, doesn't mean it's okay to feed to your children. The cost will be much higher when diabetes and autoimmune conditions kick in.

When someone asks you to name a breakfast food and you list the entire nestle and general mills product catalog before "egg" or "fruit."

That 1 year old stands no chance at being a healthy weight or having a diet or healthy relationship with food. The kid is going to end up looking like the 250lb, 7 yr old that I saw in the grocery store next to her 250ish lb teenage sister with their 350lb mother. I felt so sorry for those kids. It's abuse. No different than if you saw a kid grossly underweight.

I have never seen someone who looks so miserable and angry at having to feed their child. The way she tosses the plate down? Like why are you so upset?

As a blind guy I always gush that Nadya describes what's on screen especially the Tiktok texts as I wouldnt be able to enjoy the fat acceptance hubris.

I actually agree that it is mom shaming. And that's a good thing... Some things, like feeding your children crappy diet, absolutely should be shamed!

I was one of those kids that had donuts and sugar for breakfast, and it really isn't healthy in the long run since I became an obese child. I wish my parents didn't do that to me. Having a huge sugar spike in the morning is terrible for anyone.

That baby is going to be hungry after that "meal". I'm not against having junk food in moderation, but in no way would I consider that a meal. Its not hard to scramble some eggs, chop up some fruit, and maybe toast up some bread. These poor kids are now poorly fed, ipad kids smh 😮‍💨 my mom gave me junk and I still struggle with my weight and sugar addiction, do better.

But price isn't really a valid excuse. For the 4 dollars she spent for 'multiple meals or breakfasts' on those crappy donuts, she could've gotten almost 2 dozen eggs. A container of steel-cut oats. My stores often have sales on fresh berries and stuff where they are buy one for around 5 bucks and get one free. It's all about choices.

My parents used to force me to eat breakfast. I thought I was abnormal for a long time but then that I realized that not everyone needs to eat first thing in the morning. Sometimes a person's first meal is lunch and that's ok.

Anyway, happy channel birthday!

There’s a big different between a store bought chemical donut and making pancakes and waffles from scratch with quality protein, milk, butter and eggs.

The way the food industry just pits us against each other... I'm honestly heartbroken

I actually went through her tiktok account after seeing this donut-breakfast video. Saw her grocery shopping video. She can afford buying BIG boxes of dr.pepper and pepsi but no vegetables nor fruits. Im just sorry for the kids. They won’t have a healthy relationship with food growing up like this.
