What I'd learned along the way: If one really intends to leave, do NOT warn the abusive, adulterous spouse beforehand, since this will cause the abuse to escalate.

Whenever a child is involved, it really is very difficult - if not impossible - to win sole custody if the abusive partner is financially well-off.

I saw it differently to most. I saw a traumatized girl( by both parents) Lee. She was unstable and longed to be loved. She felt betrayed by sarah, after helping her. She made many bad choices, but wasn't bad. Sarah's male friend was the only one i really liked in this movie. And of course, her little daughter
