Anthem MRX 1140 / Apple TV - No Dolby Vision

Some reviewers have specific settings in them, that enable full band HDMI connection, some call it Enhanced or something like that. Go to the HDMI settings on your AVR itself, and make sure that the HDMI that has the Apple TV connected to it, is working at full bandwidth. Otherwise it will cause this exact issue. Most people don’t know, that a lot of receivers come with that HDMI setting OFF by default. Try that.

Got my 740 set up yesterday. I have the unit hard wire to the internet and have it update the film ware then download the arc genesis app on my computer then follow the instructions then upload the configuration to the 740 and done

I have the same problem with many other receivers.

The problem is that Apple TV don’t like other electronics in the between the device and the tv
What you need to do is to keep the format on 4K SDR ( the best way to view Apple TV menu)
And then on Match contact switch match dynamic to on
And match frame rate to on
You will many frame rates and formats that you will need to test

Now this is very important Let Apple test all of them in order to confirm them
You will not going to have a picture you will need to confirm them blindly

After 5-7 second you need to “ok the format “
Youse the arrow up and push ok button.
Do it with all the formats .

After that once you will watch a Dolby vision contact Apple TV will switch automatically To the correct format and will switch back once you are in the menus setting

Have you tried enabling "Matched Content"? As I understood it then applies the appropriate format depending upon the content, rather than all the time.

same issue on MRX1120 even though they said Dolby Vision is supported, as others said it is an apple issue, i have no issue using Dobly Vision on Nvidia Sheild Pro

Many other have this problem and my guess is that it's a bug. I think Anthem wanted free beta tester by lunching those receiver.

Hey just leave it in sdr 4k, so when you watch something in Dolby vision. It’ll just default too it. Forcing dolby or hdr on sdr content is ugly anyway
