The projects on paper yesterday become the project dialed in on a program and no mock up needed. Crazy how far we have ckme in some areas and sit still in stagnation on others. Awesome video nick as always

VVP6 would make an incredible firefighter. Get water anywhere. With increase in major forest fires yearly. Russia should revisit the design...

The Karmov design bureau had quite the knack for developing the unique and practical helo's. The Alligator is probably the finest attack helicopter in the world, and it has another unique feature of giving the crew ejection seats as well.

I was born in 82 tail end of the cold war so I'm fascinated with soviet stuff ussr may have not had our resources but what their engineers achieved with less is amazing there was certainly no lack of talent in the Soviet union

Thank you for such a detailed and information full commentary !!!
After subjecting myself to many exhaustive commentaries, over many years, by far, your marvellous, intricate, and informative account of a chronological listing of Soviet designs, with aspirations of dominating the dastardly Americans at the same game, making the Soviet's World leaders, the hope being that the World would completely become awash with Communism, bringing peace to the World, eliminating ALL antagonisms between individuals and nations !!!
Wasn't that ALL that we were wanting, and wasn't this the mechanism we needed ???

I love how the US accidentally created what was essentially a more practical Hell Reaper in the form of the XF-84H Thunderscreech - a plane whose propeller created constant sonic booms and reportedly gave ground crews seizures with its noise. Ironically, it was scrapped because it was too loud and did NOT fly well.
