The reason forward swept wings were tested and abandoned was structural. The wings would twist with much greater force than aft swept wings. It would require a wing root that would be so heavy it negates any performance advantages.

The best thing about the su57 is the paint job. Better than solid flat grey.

I get we westerners like to be skeptical of Russian weapons, but one has to agree that they have come up with brilliant designs and remarkable aircraft throughout the years.

I find the berkut as one of the most visually pleasing planes in history.

If their radars perform as they say they do, then they are truly in a class of their own.

Over the years MIG have made some stunning and very important planes, mg15, 17, 19, 21 all great classic cold war jets. i always enjoy your video's plus a MIG story is always a winner. Cheers dude from me and my Dog Max in the UK 🙂

I thing the 47 was beautiful. What an aggressive and fantastic looking aircraft

My dad once had to switch out a few gauges in a Tornado bomber even though he was neither a technician nor a pilot 😂 Some technician just gave him a set of screwdrivers, pointed him to the jet and let him climb in the cockpit

For a moment, the opening MIG MFI intro reminded me of the Clint Eastwood MIG-31 Firefox aircraft design. It wasn't swept wing. Oh well. Still waiting for the telepathic flight control (think in Russian!) innovations to make it into USAF inventory (lol). We stole -- borrowed it in 1982, so you'd think we could've reversed engineered it by now after 42 years!
BTW, I worked at Grumman Aircraft (1985-1990) where the X-29 was built, tested, and witnessed a test flight. Quite a sight.

The Su 47 Berkut is still the most beautiful flying object ive ever laid eyes upon

Although not massively into military technology I do follow a small number of channels that do documentary videos. This was really fascinating and well-made.

The Su-75 first flight has been delayed to 2025...
It is entirely possible that, by the time it actually gets produced, its market will already have been cornered by the J-31 Gyrfalcon, or some other Chinese design.

The MiG looks like some one wanted to build a Firefox 😅

The aircraft exhibits a sleek, angular design that is characteristic of stealth technology, aimed at reducing radar cross-section and improving survivability in hostile environments.

The checkmate is actually closer in design to the x-32 bullfrog from boeing than what it is to the f-35. The F-35 already crushed the x-32 in testing.

it was a dead end idea. you could only do so much with it and that was that. Had the design been more flexible I'm sure we would have seen a lot of reverse wings.

1:24:19 PAK-DA could be used to prevent geoengineering in the Arctic which would prevent catastrophic Arctic ice melting which is bad for 99% of humans but not for Russians. The wings just like stealth fighters make it a BWB Blended Wing Body and don't hurt stealth but help give it the huge range.
